We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused and fully compliant building safety and statutory compliance service across a residential portfolio of 16,000 homes. You will hold both strategic and operational responsibility for all six major compliance areas and associated M&E safety disciplines. You will lead internal teams and external contractors, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and best-practice requirements, while embedding a strong culture of safety, accountability and customer excellence. This is a key role with significant influence over building safety outcomes, regulatory assurance and resident confidence. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and governance across all building safety and compliance functions Act as the lead point of contact with the Building Safety Regulator and other statutory bodies Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance across all major compliance areas Develop, implement and monitor risk-based compliance programmes Lead and manage teams, contractors, budgets and performance Deliver assurance reporting, audits and manage resulting action plans Oversee procurement strategies and contract management frameworks Champion resident engagement, transparency and customer excellence About You Proven experience in a compliance or building safety leadership role Strong working knowledge of UK housing and building safety legislation Experience within a Local Authority, Registered Provider or social housing environment IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualifications (desirable) Full UK driving licence Why Join You will play a critical role in protecting residents, strengthening regulatory assurance and shaping best-practice compliance across a complex residential portfolio. Our client is a development company based in Kent wholly owned by a local council, established to deliver high-quality residential and commercial development as part of the Council's ambitious regeneration programme. As one of the largest regeneration areas in the Thames Gateway, there is significant investment planned to create new homes, jobs and vibrant urban and waterfront communities. Since commencing operations in 2019, our client has delivered 375 new homes, with a further 380 secured for delivery over the next five years and additional schemes in the pipeline. To support the next phase of growth, they are seeking two experienced Non-Executive Directors to join the Board. Working alongside fellow Board members, you will provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge and strong governance, ensuring the Company delivers its objectives while remaining accountable to its shareholder. Commitment: 1-2 days per month plus quarterly board meetings Remuneration: £8,755 per annum + reasonable expenses About you You will bring senior-level experience in housing, property development, construction or a related sector, with a strong understanding of commercial drivers, risk and governance. Prior non-executive experience is welcome but not essential. Most importantly, you will be able to contribute confidently at board level and support the organisation's long-term, sustainable growth.
