Our Client, Boccard, a global industrial turnkey constructor specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of innovative industrial plants are currently looking for a QA / QC Engineer experienced in the Nuclear for a 6 months contract to start with the possibility to be extended / become a permanent employee near Bridgewater, Somerset (TA7 0AJ) QA/ QC Engineer is responsible for carrying out inspections in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. They will oversee the quality and safety of the companies welding and fabrication activities, including dimensional inspection. They are responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking weld specifications and ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to. CSWIP 3.1 & PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation req as a min Part of the Quality team carrying our inspections and surveillance Assist Site Managers in their Quality requirements. Ensure that the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan is written in-line with the project requirements and is being effectively implemented and shared with relevant managers. Liaise with all sub-contractors and treatment works to carry out random inspections of these sites to ensure compliance to the required specifications as set out by contract and purchase orders. Complete inspections to ensure material at goods inwards meet the required standards. Ensure a good standard of workmanship is maintained throughout the contract. Ensure reports from visits to suppliers and sub-contractors to in-house inspections are produced and recorded with contract documentation. Management of subcontractors. Review of all documentation, LTRs & final certification packages are in accordance with contract requirements Review calibration and test equipment are in full compliance with company & contract requirements. Ensure weld procedures comply with relevant code & contract requirements. Analyse non-conformance reports Final review of all fabrication and assembly documentation before submission to the client Maintain the approved suppliers listing and requesting any documentation that may have expired. Liaising with Suppliers, Subcontractors, clients etc and attend meetings where appropriate. Issue of any Quality Documents required by client to Document Control for approval/review. Liaise with sub-contractor and ensure all documentation runs concurrently with the project requirements. Liase with client representatives relating to QA/ QC operation Collect and keep up to date SQEP Files for HPSL Personnel - issue to client if required by Contract/Client. Job Description Job Title: Valve Technician Job Type: Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am- 4:30pm, 40 hours per week Job Location: Immingham As a Valve Technician, you will play a key role in the inspection, repair, maintenance, testing, and certification of a wide range of valves, actuators, and associated pressure systems. Working both from our Immingham workshop and at customer sites across the UK, you'll support clients in ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of critical equipment. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of industries including oil & gas, fuel storage and distribution, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, biofuels, waste and recycling, steelworks, chemical processing, power generation, and other industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, overhaul, and certify valves, actuators, and associated equipment. Carry out repairs, fault-finding, testing, and calibration activities to ensure equipment meets relevant standards and customer requirements. Work on a variety of equipment including pressure relief valves, safety valves, control valves, isolation valves, regulating valves, pumps, and associated pressure systems. Deliver high-quality work both in the workshop and on customer sites. Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Maintain accurate inspection, testing, and certification records in line with company procedures. Comply with all health, safety, and quality requirements while representing SGS professionally at customer locations. Qualifications The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with valves, pipework, pressure systems, pumps, rotating equipment, mechanical maintenance, or related industrial equipment. We welcome applications from candidates who have gained experience in sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, fuel storage, manufacturing, food production, pharmaceuticals, utilities, steelworks, marine, power generation, or other heavy industrial environments. You will ideally have: Experience in valve overhaul, repair, testing, certification, or mechanical maintenance. Knowledge of pressure systems, pipework, pumps, actuators, or associated mechanical equipment. A recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant practical engineering experience. Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills. A flexible approach to working both in a workshop and field-based environment (80% site based) A valid UK driving licence.
