The Role As a Software Test Engineer , you'll be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through a combination of manual and automated testing within an Agile development environment. This is a varied role that offers plenty of autonomy and would suit someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and working across multiple projects. This is a fully office-based role in Derby, providing excellent collaboration with the wider engineering team. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and execute manual and automated software tests. Analyse requirements and define appropriate test approaches. Validate software against acceptance criteria and functional specifications. Develop, maintain and enhance automated test scripts. Support continuous integration and regression testing activities. Work closely with developers to identify, investigate and resolve software defects. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of testing processes, tools and quality standards. About You We're looking for someone with commercial software testing experience who enjoys working in a collaborative engineering environment. You'll ideally have: Commercial experience in software testing, ideally within an embedded software environment. A good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Experience with manual and automated testing. Familiarity with Git or other version control systems. Experience working with Linux operating systems. Knowledge of REST APIs, networking and internet protocols such as HTTP and TCP/IP. Good working knowledge of Python and Bash scripting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience with Azure DevOps would be advantageous.
