Someone who has some experience of working on or supporting with third-party events and can use their knowledge to project manager events within our portfolio. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the East Midlands Teenage and Young Adult Integrated Cancer Service. We are looking to recruit two Teenage Cancer Trust Youth Support Coordinators, both posts are funded by Teenage Cancer Trust. We are looking for exceptional individuals who must enjoy working with Teenagers and Young Adults (TYA), be emotionally resilient and have compassion, sensitivity and a sense of humour. Working as part of the TYA Multidisciplinary team and linking into existing wide-ranging patient services, the successful candidates will be based on Teenage Cancer Trust Units within the East Midlands TYA service. Post 1 - 18.75 hrs per week at the E39 Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Queens Medical Centre (aged 13-18 years) Post 2 - 37.5hrs per week at the Hogarth Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Nottingham city Hospital (aged 18-24 years) The post holders will be responsible for providing, both individually tailored and group, support both on and off the unit for young people. Working in partnership with other YSC colleagues, they will both lead and contribute to a wide range of appropriate recreational activities, to enable and encourage patients to socialise and remain active as young people throughout the cancer trajectory, living with and beyond cancer. The Teenage Cancer Trust Units provide a home-from-home environment for TYA undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, symptom control and palliation. The TYA team understand that this is an impressionable time in the young person's life and aims to provide specialist care and emotional support through their treatment and prepare them for the future.
