Job Purpose The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities for fire and security solutions. This role focuses on expanding market presence and building strategic partnerships. Roles and responsibilities Accountable for achieving sales targets monthly, quarterly, and annually. Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and product development, reporting/escalating key activity, developments, and issues, as necessary. Build new client based & manage existing client base. Communicate with clients to achieve sales targets (telephone sales). Job Role As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of fire and security systems across a variety of sites. You will work closely with the Service Manager and support teams to ensure all systems remain compliant, reliable, and fully operational. This role requires solid technical knowledge, excellent fault-finding skills, and a strong focus on customer service. Roles and responsibilities Service, maintain, and repair fire and security systems, including intruder alarms, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV. Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits and emergency callouts. Join the on call rota for out of hours calls. Diagnose faults and undertake effective repairs in a timely manner. Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards. Liaise with clients to provide technical advice and support. Complete service reports, job sheets, and system documentation accurately. Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth communication Summary of Skills and Experience Proven experience as a service or maintenance engineer with a minimum of 2 years within the fire & security industry. Strong knowledge of fire alarm and security systems (e.g., Honeywell, Pyronix, Hikvision, Paxton, Advanced, Kentec, Hyfire etc.). Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Full UK driving licence (essential). Relevant industry qualifications (FIA units, ECS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA) are desirable. Essential Personal Qualities 4 Years Experience in a SHEQ related role. 3 years in a process safety role COMAH Experience. NEBOSH / equivalent qualification. Process safety background. Essential Professional Qualities Relevant Degree/Master s Degree in construction or engineering such as Surveying, Fire Safety Engineering etc. Professional Membership with the RICS, CABE or IFE/IFSM A good number of years experience in fire engineering, or related discipline role. With desirable experience in fire engineering or façade fire engineering. Experience with BIM, AutoCAD or similar to carry out design and design reviews. Worked with and experience of regulatory and guidance frameworks including Building Regulations, The Fire Safety Act, Building Safety Act, BS 9991 and 9999 etc. Managing your own workload, tasks, and time to meet agreed deadlines.
