Be a Support Worker for Heart of England Mencap in Shipston on Stour (Rosedale) and change lives every day! £12.88 per hour We have a new opening for support workers to support our customers in the Shipston area. This role is based at our Supported Living home where we have a total of 10 flats boasting a large communal area and fantastic garden. Our customers have a real zest for life and enjoy going on regular trips, more recently we have been on trips to Harry potter world and zoos! We hold regular events at home including movie nights, quizzes and fancy dress evenings - as you can tell, this is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity where no two days are the same!We are looking for people who want to help our adults with learning disabilities to make the most of everyday - it could be ranging from assisting with personal care or prompting medication right through to supporting with daily living skills and supporting our customers to their social activities. We are able to offer up to 40 hours per week on a permanent basis. (flexible shift patterns). Rosedale Mixture of shift times between 7am and 10pm supporting a variety of customers throughout the shift. Will include split shifts e.g. 7am-9am then 2pm-6pm (just an example) Wake night hours also available 10pm-7am with a £1.50 per hour wake night enhancement Sleep ins are available but not urgently needed - 3pm-10pm, (10pm -7am is the sleep in) 7am-9am or 7am-3pm Please check your commute distance especially if you rely on public transport.In our latest inspection, we were rated GOOD by CQC ! Your duties will include overseeing the effective, outcome focused day-to-day delivery of high-quality support, meeting the requirements of the contract, in relation to hours of support provided and to promote and encourage a culture that demonstrates how we actively deliver our values and beliefs. Also you will be required to lead the service and the team members to deliver care and support that demonstrates empowerment, choice, personalisation care and compassion, and that also demonstrates the principles of equality, diversity, respect and dignity. Flexibility will be required for early mornings, evenings, weekends and sleep in shifts to meet the needs of the business. A contribution towards the on-call rota will also be established once fully trained. A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is essential. Because of the nature of the service, the successful candidate must have a minimum of five years' experience supporting adults who have learning disabilities, including a minimum of two years supporting those who have complex health needs (e.g. Epilepsy, Catheter, Stoma and Dysphagia). Due to the rural location of the service, a full driving licence would be beneficial. Duties and key responsibilities: Deputise for the Operational Manager Resource management and rota's Staff Management (appraisals, absence and performance management) Meeting with professionals (e.g. customer reviews, professional assessments, MDT meetings) Compliance and regulatory standards Competency Assessments Maintaining accurate customer and staff records, both paper-based and electronically which may include: Support Plans, Risk Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, Health Action Plans, Hospital Passports, Medication profiles. Monitoring training compliance Recruitment and onboarding (e.g. interviews, induction, probation reviews) Ensuring safe staffing levels within the service, including delivering hands on support when required Health & Safety Safeguarding Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and be computer literate.
