We are looking for Secure Care Officers to work in a Young Offenders unit in Milton Keynes Salary- Starting at £27,527 and rising to £33,000 after probation. Secure Care Officer This role is working in a secure setting within a young offenders unit in Milton Keynes. We are recruiting for 20 Secure Care Officers in Milton Keynes for our client. You will be looking after, supervising, educating and building bonds with adolescents who are being rehabilitated. This role will be challenging yet significantly more rewarding. We are looking for a variety of individuals who have a passion for helping younger individuals and assisting in the process of getting them back into society. This means we are open to people who have worked in various backgrounds such as care, social work, education, coaching, hospitality or even retail. Establish mutual trust and respect to ensure a positive and appropriate response to information and guidance. Set out structures and boundaries by actively showing positive behaviours to demonstrate clear expectations for the young individuals in our care. Manage and monitor the behaviour to minimise incidents and emergencies by defusing challenging situations quickly, efficiently and smoothly. Therefore, improving standards of behaviour. The aim is to protect the public by keeping prisoners in custody and working with them to reduce the chance of them re-offending on release. Our challenging regime is designed to address prisoners' offending behaviour, to give them choices and the chance to gain valuable life skills. People like you can help us continue this good work. As a Prison Custody Officer, you will play a crucial part in caring for over 1,400 male prisoners in safe and decent conditions. You will have the chance to work with 15 year old children, older teenagers and adults from age 21 to older adults. You will assist with resettlement opportunities by properly preparing prisoners for their release from custody. In addition to custodial duties, our staff are required to build and maintain dynamic security relationships with prisoners under their care. This is a complex and challenging balance of authority that requires understanding and compassion. Qualifications aren't essential, life experience is far more important, as is the ability to remain calm and deal with all kinds of people in a non-judgemental, mature manner.
