As an Opiate Support Volunteer, you will play a key role in supporting the Opiate Team at CGL. You will be a valued member of the Opiate team and liaise with the Recovery Coordinators assisting them in their caseload management and supporting their service users through all aspects of their treatment journey. You will undertake various administrative roles which will include booking appointments, completing drug screens with clients, uploading documents onto our system, and liaising with external agencies such as GP surgeries and Pharmacies. In the Opiate Team we may support clients who may be open to 'Children's Services' or 'Mental Health Services' and part of your volunteering role will be to offer support to the clients through this process. This could include encouraging the clients to attend the groups at CGL and promoting the benefits of living a substance free lifestyle for their future. A thorough induction will be provided with on-site training in relation to substance misuse and relapse prevention. Key Activities Support the Opiate team with their administrative duties such as booking clients on the system and uploading / scanning documents Drug testing any clients who present to the service (full training will be provided) and uploading documents onto our system Completion of 'wellbeing' calls to clients in between their appointments and encouraging them to attend their upcoming appointments at CGL Reviewing of client's dispensing regime and liaising with medical team Contacting local pharmacies and GP Surgeries in relation to client's prescriptions Supporting CGL Staff members to complete 'Home Visits' at client's homes if required Supporting clients during their medical reviews at Change Grow Live and completing the relevant documentation and uploading this onto the system Encouraging clients to live a drug free lifestyle and to promote the Change Grow Live Groups Support service users to achieve their care plan goals Skills You'll Need Ability to work with professional boundaries Good verbal and written communication skills IT literacy Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising accordingly Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality Closing Date 10/7/2026 Contact Alison Fleet Please note that we require you to be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role.
