Metrology Technician Location: Plymouth Salary: 28,000 - 30,000 per annum + 20% shift premium Shifts: Full-time, site-based, alternating shift pattern About the Role We are recruiting for a Metrology Technician to join a leading advanced manufacturing and engineering business based in Plymouth. Working within a quality-focused manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate measurement, calibration, and inspection activities, while supporting quality assurance processes, production requirements, and customer acceptance activities. Key Responsibilities Perform accurate measurement and inspection of components, castings, and forgings using manual instruments, CMM equipment, and 3D scanning technology. Generate measurement reports and maintain traceability of samples, inspection records, and quality documentation. Conduct material integrity testing including ultrasonic inspection and hardness testing using Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, and Leeb methods. Calibrate, maintain, and manage gauges and measuring equipment, liaising with external calibration providers when required. Provide support for quality assurance activities and cover Customer Acceptance Line (CAL) duties during periods of absence, holiday, or increased workload. _ About You Essential: Previous experience in metrology, quality inspection, calibration, or a similar engineering environment. Experience using precision measuring equipment, gauges, and inspection tools. Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Good attention to detail with strong organisational and record-keeping skills. Desirable: Experience with CMM programming, Opticline systems, or 3D scanning equipment. Knowledge of ultrasonic testing, hardness testing, or metallurgical preparation techniques. Experience working within aerospace, automotive, defence, or other precision engineering sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company known for delivering high-quality bespoke fabrication and installation projects across a range of sectors. Working within both workshop and site environments, you will be responsible for TIG welding, fabrication, assembly, and installation of bespoke metalwork, while supporting the successful delivery of projects to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Carry out precision TIG welding on stainless steel components. Read and interpret technical drawings to fabricate and assemble bespoke metalwork. Set out and install balustrades and other architectural metalwork on customer sites. Supervise team members and support project delivery where required. Role Job title: Valet Parking Driver (VP) Location: Bristol Airport, Silver Zone Pay: 13.45 per hour to 16.63 (Awaiting increase) per hour dependent on shifts worked Status: Agency worker Hours of work: Part-time or full time, weekdays and/or weekends Mego is contracted by Bristol Airport to staff and run their Silver Zone block parking operation. We are now ramping up for the busy summer months and need to recruit 20 more VPs. The role involves safely and carefully driving passenger's vehicles from the drop-off area to a block parking area at the airport and then driving them back to a pick-up area before passengers return. It is a varied and interesting outdoor role involving quite a lot of walking in all weathers. These are long term assignments; some of our VPs have been driving for us for over 10 years. Shifts are typically 8 hours long and are available 7 days per week starting between 06:00 and 13.30. To work as a VP you'll need to: Have held a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months, during which time you'll have done plenty of driving Have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence Have not been disqualified from driving in the last 5 years Be age 18 or over Provide an employment reference from the last 12 months or evidence of your attendance at a place of learning. Evidence your right to work in the UK No formal qualifications are required for this role but you'll need to be comfortable driving a wide range of vehicles in all conditions from camper vans to EVs, parking them in close proximity to other vehicles and be prepared to undergo a driving assessment. And you'll need to show us whilst under training that you have good judgement, are a skilled, careful and considerate driver, can follow detailed instructions and comply with our strict operational procedures and conduct requirements. Job title: Customer Service Agent (Welcome Host/Arrivals Warden/Silver Zone Host) Location: Bristol Airport Pay: 14.51 per hour (Awaiting pay increase) Status: Agency worker Hours of work: part-time and full-time, weekdays and/or weekends, variable shift patterns. These are long-term assignments with some of our staff working year-round, year on year. Mego is contracted by Bristol Airport to supply staff across the airport in a variety of customer facing roles. We are now ramping up for the busy summer months and need to recruit more Welcome Hosts, Arrivals Wardens and Silver Zone Hosts to strengthen our existing teams. These are very important customer-facing roles as you'll likely be the first face passengers see after they've landed or when they are arriving at, or departing from, Silver Zone Reception. These roles involve either guiding passengers arriving back at the terminal building to the appropriate entrance and directing them to passport control or welcoming them to the Silver Zone Reception and helping them through the key drop off and collection process. To work in one of these customer service roles you'll need to: Have really good customer service skills and a warm, welcoming, empathetic personality. Be able to talk confidently with passengers when answering their questions and providing guidance and advice. Be able and willing to exert control over large numbers of passengers as they embark or disembark from busses taking them to/from aircraft. Be able and willing to handle the everyday pressures, complexities and frustrations of airport life. To be presentable, dependable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and compliance. Be able to offer us flexibility with regard to your working hours and shift patterns as sometimes we'll need to make changes at short notice.
