Leading our NoBo Technical Assessment team, focusing on desktop technical evaluations of pressure systems and components to ensure compliance before they are placed in the UK (UKCA) or European Union (CE). The UK Notified Body (NoBo) Department Head will conduct compliance assessments, reviewing technical documentation, and validating designs according to Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU, Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), and relevant standards. Key Responsibilities: To lead a division as the UK Notified Body (NoBo) Department Head To manage current projects and expand/grow the business Review and assess technical documentation, including design drawings, calculations, and material certificates. Ensure designs comply with PED, PSSR, and other relevant standards and directives. Liaise with Clients, Project Managers, and Conformity Assessors to ensure documentation is complete and meets regulatory standards. Issue technical reports and certificates (UKCA or CE) of conformity based on desktop assessments. Provide technical support and guidance on regulatory compliance and best practices to both clients and internal teams. Keep abreast of industry standards and regulatory changes impacting pressure equipment design and assessment. Assist in developing and maintaining desktop assessment processes and documentation protocols. You will have: A Degree (BEng, MEng, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in technical assessment of pressure systems design, evaluation, or technical assessments. Solid understanding of PED, PSSR, and related UK and EU standards (e.g., EN 13445, ASME VIII) Experience with pressure vessel design, stress analysis, and material selectionProficient in reviewing engineering drawings and technical documents. Proficiency in reviewing engineering drawings and technical documents. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer who has experience of designing or maintaining mechanical equipment, such as rotating machines, pressure vessels, valves and structures, to join our dynamic team of highly experienced Integrity Management Consultants and Engineers, delivering Asset Integrity Management services to client companies across the globe in all industry sectors. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess: - At least 5 years experience working in a relevant engineering field. A strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and a passion for innovation. Minimum 2:1 Degree level qualified in a relevant Mechanical Engineering discipline Effective communication skills and be customer focused. Able to manage uncertain and complex situations. Clean UK Driving License. Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate, with a drive to develop and further their career. Engineering and Operating experience working in High Hazard Oil, Gas & Chemicals Industry (desirable) Associate or Chartered member of relevant institution e.g. Institution of Mechanical Engineers (desirable) You will work alongside a principal consultant on all types of project sizes and complexities, with a particular emphasis on improving safety, reliability and integrity for clients, following an agile approach to identify new and more efficient ways of working.
