Temporary Administrative & Operations Assistant Location: Farnborough Assignment: 27th April 4th August Hours: Monday Friday, 08 00 £15 per hour The Opportunity The Solution Group are supporting an electrical engineering organisation requiring a Temporary Administrative & Operations Assistant to support their team. This is a fixed-term temporary assignment from 27th April to 7th August, providing operational and administrative support across one of the busiest and most exciting periods of the year. The role will begin with a quieter onboarding period, allowing time to learn systems and processes and become familiar with the environment, before gradually building into a fast-paced operational setting as the air show approaches. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being around people, keeping things organised and supporting a busy operational team. The Person We are looking for someone who is personable, practical and reliable, with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to interact with a wide range of customers and visitors. This role would suit someone who: Has excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Is confident communicating with different people and personalities Remains calm, organised and professional in busy environments Is reliable and proactive, able to find things to do when quiet Enjoys being part of a hands-on team environment Is happy to support across administration, customer service and operations Key Responsibilities The role combines administration, customer service and operational support, including: Supporting MD and Senior staff with operational Admin Answering incoming telephone calls and taking messages Logging live electrical updates and supplies required while maintaining internal records and databases Supporting general administration using Excel, Word and Outlook Preparing signage, flyers and labels Welcoming customers and visitors, providing information and assistance Supporting the sale of electrical supplies to customers, processing card and cash payments for shop items Issuing uniforms and coordinating basic operational supplies Communicating with engineers via two-way radios Supporting the engineering team with day-to-day operational coordination Preparing and organising tea, coffee, ice creams and cakes for clients and visitors Occasional trips to Costco or local suppliers for supplies Helping ensure visitors and clients are looked after during busy periods Skills & Experience Essential: Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook Strong communication and customer service skills Comfortable interacting with customers and operational teams Full UK driving licence Ability to multitask and stay organised during busy periods Desirable (not essential): Exposure to engineering, technical or operational environments

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established building services and maintenance contractor operating across London and the South East. This role involves mechanical installation, maintenance, and refurbishment work across commercial sites, supporting multi-trade projects alongside electrical and mechanical teams. A large proportion of the work will be carried out at various commercial sites in the South East, with additional projects located within and around the M25, including London. Key Responsibilities: Installation, replacement, and maintenance of pumps, pipework, valves, and related mechanical systems Use of hand tools and company-provided equipment to carry out mechanical work safely and effectively Supporting other trades on multi-discipline projects and performing reactive maintenance where required Managing workload independently while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards We are looking for a practical, hands-on individual with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will be confident in their mechanical skills, capable of problem-solving on site, and able to work independently or as part of a team. The role involves manual handling and moving larger equipment using appropriate tools, so applicants should be fit and healthy.
