Support teachers in addressing learning challenges and fostering a culture of respect and cooperation. Maintain detailed records of students' progress and any interventions used. Provide regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties to ensure a coordinated approach to each student's development. Ensure that students receive comprehensive support by collaborating with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of students and their families. Requirements: Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, particularly in an SEN setting. A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications or training in education are desirable. Classroom support are excited to be working with a large mainstream Primary School in the Maidstone area. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a temporary long-term position starting in September 2025 There is a highly competitive rate of pay which is 90+ per day depending on experience, for working hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm. Working days are Monday-Friday term time only. Requirements of the role are, - Supporting a pupil with ASD (Autism), who needs a lot of 1:1 support within and outside of the class. - Using your experience of effective behaviour management. Resilience, patience and calmness are key experience traits that the school are looking for. - Understanding of Autism and experience working with adults or children with such support needs. - Advantageous requirement of holding a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification. - Additionally, fulfilling any required duties defined by the class teacher. - Be willing to provide lunch cover on occasions. - Any experience of SEN or relevant SEN qualification is advantageous but not a necessity.
