As the Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient operation of all activities in the laboratory including health & safety and quality. Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician also include: Perform routine and non-routine quality control analysis and interpretation using an array of equipment (GC, GCMS, XRF, IC, Bomb calorimetry, Titrations, Karl Fisher, Hydrometers and more). Sign off and dispatch materials to customers, ensuring required specification is met. Authorise the receipt of loads onto site. Perform data entry and filing of reports to ensure that accurate analytical data is presented in the correct format and in a timely fashion to all relevant parties. Carry out safety critical tasks / analysis required as per procedure dictates. Maintain good housekeeping & cleaning standards within the laboratory. To aid wastewater management. Liaise and communicate results effectively and efficiently to other departments. Perform calibrations and QC checks of lab equipment. Ensure that non-conforming materials are communicated effectively. Undertake project work to improve laboratory and plant processes. Promote a high standard of health and safety within the laboratory. Reporting of near miss accidents and incidents. Make relevant continuous improvement suggestions to supervisors / management and monitor equipment performance.

We re working with a manufacturing site seeking a Control Systems / Automation Engineer with 3 5+ years experience in a plant or industrial environment. The role is site-based and offers the chance to take real ownership of the control systems while contributing to ongoing projects and future site investment. The role will involve: Managing and maintaining the on-site Siemens PLC systems Writing, modifying, and improving PLC code to support safe and efficient operations Supporting control systems projects and continuous improvement initiatives Ensuring control systems reliability and process stability across the site The site operates with ATEX areas and SIL-regulated systems. Experience in these areas is beneficial but not essential , as training and development can be provided. With strong growth plans, site expansion, and continued investment planned for 2026, this role offers clear opportunities for progression and long-term development. Main Responsibilities: Act as first point of contact for Electrical and Automation maintenance support. Provide rapid response to breakdowns, minimising plant and process downtime. Modify and maintain PLC programs (Siemens, TIA Portal, WinCC) , ensuring program integrity is preserved. Support operations and projects across control systems, electrical infrastructure, and instrumentation. Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs on production equipment. Collaborate with production teams to identify process limitations and recommend improvements. Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities on production lines. Apply structured problem-solving techniques (RCA, 5 Whys, predictive maintenance). Support continuous improvement initiatives including TPM, CBM, EEM, and lean principles. Assist with commissioning and installation of new machinery. Ensure engineering activities are accurately recorded on the CMMS, including time, parts, and costs. Support critical spares and plant inventory management. Contribute to knowledge transfer and basic skills training for operators. Comply fully with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and site procedures. Undertake training and development identified through performance reviews. Carry out any other reasonable engineering-related duties. What s in it for you?
