Role purpose Working as a senior member of the commercial department and acting as a key pivotal role to the project team you will be required to manage the full cost control elements of a project, including planning, change management, forecasting and WIP reporting. Management of forecasting is essential and requires dedicated control of the monthly valuations upstream, to the client, and downstream to the sub-contractors and suppliers. As a senior member of the team you will be required to support the pre-construction team including contract wording reviews, feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis. Writing reports and preparing documents (plans, contracts, budgets etc), dealing with risk analysis evaluations and dispute resolution. Key Tasks and Responsibilities General Pre & Post Construction management. Contract reviews upstream with the client Management, control of project contributions and effective monthly monitoring and analysis. Scope analysis of sub-contract packages including CDP reviews Cost / budget / margin project projections & management WIP reporting, including cash flow forecasting Profit Improvement Plans and Risk Management Client billing negotiations & justifications Management of change both internal & external ensuring contractual compliance. Sub-contractor/partner appointments & price work negotiations Management of all purchase orders & invoices for suppliers Management of Contract Master & Contract Costing systems Customer engagement and Business Development Planning and Organising: Good forward thinker and planner Able to perform consistently under pressure, and meet deadline Ability to prioritise work and deliver to tight deadlines for the department and team Contributes to day-to-day smooth running of the department Exercise straightforward technical or professional judgement using Company values, policy and procedures to guide actions and decisions Working with People: Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of clients. Role Overview As a Critical Infrastructure Project Manager (mechanical or electrical) you will be required to lead the overall project or to be manage aspects of a larger scale multi-disciplined critical engineering projects, generally as a Principle Contractor. This includes leading and driving the overall delivery, performance and management of the project and all the relevant stakeholders, to ensure that all activities meet the programme, cost, safety and quality objectives of the project, the contract, the client, and the business. The Role You will report into the Senior Project Manager or Operation Lead and you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical, and/or electrical works on various data centre and critical systems projects. You will be a key component of highly successfully delivery team with direct access to clients and their professional teams. You will be instrumental in ensuring designs are co-ordinated and completed and the correct quality of drawings are produced in line with the contract documentation. You will lead the procurement of plant, equipment and works packages in conjunction with the commercial and procurement teams. The roles requires that you engage with the supply chain to ensure successful delivery of each of their packages to meet the objectives of the programme and the project. All of which is to be attain within the pre-agreed requirements of the cost plan. The role will also co-ordinate and support with the commissioning engineers to ensure the levels of commissioning are completed on-time and to the correct requirements and witnessed. You will also be required to ensure the correct handover of a project is followed ensuring all documentation and legislatory paperwork is completed and handed over and recorded. To record actions and meeting minutes and ensure completeness. Responsible for overseeing the commissioning and witnessing of all systems. Due to our continued success and growth, there is a need to appoint an experienced lead estimator who has proven experience working within the Data Centre and Critical Environments. The lead estimator will be responsible for providing commercial support for the business unit in winning work by estimating the cost of key project elements such main items of plant, electrical systems, and subcontract packages of electrical, mechanical and construction. It is important that an estimator understands basic construction technology and methods of delivery on and off site. Your responsibilities will include: - Issuing subcontract and material enquiries for various packages. Attend site visits and collaborate with client s team Attend site visits with potential suppliers and sub-contractors Read, understand, and scrutinise specifications and drawings Understand the roll of principle contractor and sub-contractor duties Identification of potential risk and opportunities Carry out takes offs from drawings and specifications Use of Estimating software (Trimble) Input into design aspects regarding value engineering Reviewing sub-contractor submissions ensuring compliance with tender requirements Compilation of final tender documentation for director sign off Input into the program highlighting potential lead time issues Input into the formal submission of tenders About you Ideally the successful candidate should come from an engineering background with knowledge of electrical systems. Education to HNC/HND or degree level in Electrical/Building Services an advantage. You need to be able to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met without compromise on quality, able to work on own initiative, self-motivated and good team play who can communicate with colleagues and management at all levels.
