What You'll Do In this instructor role, you will provide engaging, technically accurate mechanical engineering training-ensuring soldiers are equipped with the knowledge, confidence and practical capability to excel in their roles. Deliver high-quality instruction on the repair and maintenance of in-service C-Vehicles and Engineer Construction Plant equipment. Teach core mechanical engineering topics, including: Transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems Power hydraulics Electrical and electronic control systems Fault diagnosis Mechanical principles and bench fitting Workshop management and safe working practices Assess and mark learner performance against military and civilian awarding body standards. Maintain accurate records, course materials, equipment documentation and training aids. Uphold the highest levels of safety, welfare and professionalism. Support continuous improvement, contribute to department objectives, and, when required, stand in for the Section Leader. This role blends technical expertise, hands on instruction, learner mentorship and the pride of supporting the development of the UK Armed Forces. What We're Looking For Essential: A suitable Mechanical Engineering qualification (Level 3 Engineering Maintenance or similar). City & Guilds 620 Pt III, or Military Trained Fitter (or equivalent). Professional Teaching Certificate or willingness to achieve one. Experience with plant vehicles/equipment. Commitment to achieving Defence Instructional Techniques and ASLS Instructor training. Category C, G & H licences (or willingness to obtain, where acceptable). Strong communication skills, positive learner focused mindset, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Desirable / Advantageous: NVQ Assessor/Verifier qualification (or working towards). Experience in a training, coaching or instructional environment. GCSE Art & Design Visiting Moderator visits centres to carry out the moderation of certain forms of work which is marked initially by teacher examiners/assessors in the centres. Each moderator will moderate a specified number of centre samples. We are also looking for: Responsibilities To carry out the moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in the centres and then sent to you.
