About the role In this integral role as Hygiene Manager, you will effectively lead and manage the hygiene team and function on the relevant shift, ensuring that all hygiene standards are consistently maintained and developed to the highest level. These standards will be reviewed regularly and, where necessary, challenged and improved. Role Accountabilities Ensure a safe working environment and comply with all SHE policy standards. Achieve and continuously improve hygiene standards, demonstrated through key KPIs. Manage CIP systems and all documentation for interim and deep cleaning. Promote a culture of challenge, feedback, and continuous improvement. Deliver 100% internal and external customer service and represent the company professionally. Maintain strong employee relations through fair and consistent application of HR policies. Translate the manufacturing strategy and operational plan into clear shift actions owned by the team. Plan and manage labour, equipment efficiency, and ancillary services to meet productivity and cost targets. Ensure the team structure is fit for purpose and lead training and development to support progression and capability. Communicate effectively to keep the workforce informed and maintain strong cross-functional links. Drive hygiene, health and safety, and technical standards to meet all business, customer, and audit requirements. About You You will be an experienced people manager who knows how to motivate and lead teams, ideally with strong expertise in hygiene. You bring a logical, clear-thinking approach and remain composed and effective under pressure. Strong communication skills-verbal, written, and through presentations-enable you to influence, guide, and collaborate with confidence. You naturally demonstrate the Bakkavor values in your day-to-day approach and show adaptability and flexibility across different hours and operational areas. You'll have hands-on experience in hygiene within a manufacturing setting and a solid understanding of COSHH requirements. Role Accountabilities Responsible to the project sponsor for the end-to-end delivery of projects. Establish a structure and plan for managing the requirements of CDM, Safety, Health & Environment, and contractor control throughout the duration for the project. Develop a group of direct and sub-contract resources into a coherent team that delivers the project objectives. Lead the delivery of the project with defined objectives and manage stakeholder expectations. Preparation of scope briefing documentation, selection of the professional team and Principal Contractor including commercial terms and contractual engagement documentation. Accountabilities: Manage the engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work so that plant availability is optimised and manage technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes & packaging Implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering & production needs. Comply with statutory & Bakkavor Health & Safety requirement, ensures reports work in a safe manner. This will include ownership of dynamic risk assessment process Ensure engineering downtime is minimised, accurately logged, and monitor the repair time. Liaise with planning and operations team to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager To maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer. GMP standard of workshops and engineers tool boxes is maintained at a high level About you. About the role As a Compliance Technologist, you will work in a busy and dynamic environment, reporting to the Technical Services Manager. You will provide technical expertise to our customers, suppliers, and the wider business, advising on legal, safety, and quality standards, and delivering specialist technical support across all functions. Role Accountabilities Provide administrative support for QMS and HACCP compliance. Generate and maintain Technical KPI reports. Monitor and trend non-conformance, complaints, microbiological, and nutritional surveillance data to ensure root cause analysis and improvements. Coordinate pest control activities and ensure compliance with scheduled visits. Maintain the Allergen Risk Assessment by implementing procedures and updating changes to meet business needs. Perform data entry, trend analysis, respond to information requests, coordinate actions, manage change procedures, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Conduct traceability exercises across the site and drive system improvements for full compliance. Ensure professional, timely communication with customers and contribute to audits and site visits. Share relevant information in forums to maintain audit readiness. Perform internal audits, trend actions and non-conformances, and report findings to appropriate forums. Collaborate with Technical Management to ensure compliance with standards, Codes of Practice, and legislation. Work with the Specification Technologist to create and update finished product specifications. Support implementation of changes related to product launches, delists, and promotional activities. Assist with export documentation compliance and manage export veterinary officer visits. Provide flexible support across the Technical team, deputising where required and contributing to projects.
