Our client, based in Houghton Le Spring, is currently undergoing significant investment to increase capacity and install world leading environmental controls. As a result, they are currently recruiting Process Operators to join the team, working in various locations within the facility. Hours of work would be 17.15 per hour including shift allowance. Duties & responsibilities: Must be safety focussed, demonstrate good safety behaviours and be comfortable to raise safety concerns should they arise. Experience of working with chemicals and COSHH would be an advantage. Must be comfortable wearing PPE including a full face mask when required (no facial hair permitted). Required to operate various critical processes including i) impregnation and drying plant, ii) thermal processing equipment and iii) onsite effluent treatment facility. Required to perform in line testing on manufactured product and quality assurance checks. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on production equipment and within production areas. Running Machines and working from specifications. Requirements: Minimum of 2 years demonstrable manufacturing experience as a process operator. GCSE English and Maths or equivalent NVQ. Forklift license would be desirable but not essential as training will be given. Benefits: Our client is offering a competitive rate of pay in addition to other employee benefits. This role is permanent but may initially commence as temporary. Hours of work are: Permanent dayshift 5.30am - 6.00pm Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday for 4 weeks and Thursday, Friday, Saturday for 4 weeks working 5.30am - 6.00pm on an ongoing rotation there after. Job Description Update and maintain all QA and production records as required. General production duties and cleaning duties. To assist Supervisors and Team Leaders to achieve their goals. Carry out stock checks materials. Ensure that all work areas are kept clean, tidy and free from damaged goods. Checking and printing of production codes are required. Production checks for closures, volume control, labelling and packing. Carry out quality checks as specified in customer specification or advised by QA department. Ensure that customer specification is adhered to and appropriate quality standards are maintained. Ensure equipment is running correctly and safely. Take appropriate action to resolve problems, including stopping the line when necessary in order to request assistance from maintenance or supervision if required. Filling machine operation and setting. Set up and run the plant machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
