Please note this role is going to be on a 3 shift rotating pattern that will include mornings, afternoons and nights. Job description - the role Purpose of the role: The role involves the process of fan case components and associated sub-components through Bonding Valuestream across multiple processes including paint spraying, internal panel bonding, void filling and kevlar wrapping. Working in an established team to maintain quality, flow rate and customer deliveries. What you'll do: Application of paint & protective coatings Void filling internal areas of fan case and associated subcomponents Bonding of internal acoustic panels Kevlar Wrap operations. Be able to read and interpret manufacturing engineering drawings, technical instructions, and written specifications. Self-certification inspection of operations to ensure they meet quality standard/ drawing requirements. Maintain 5S and good housekeeping standards within work area. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the process/ cell The skills you'll need: Good understanding of paint spraying fundamentals NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) AND Time-served Apprenticeship both within a mechanical engineering discipline Basic IT literacy including understanding of MES booking system. As a CNC Machinist, you would be responsible for: Setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machining equipment (mills and turns). Interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and working instructions to produce components to exact tolerances. Performing in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, CMM's) to ensure compliance with the clients' quality standards. Identifying and helping to implement improvements to machining processes whilst collaborating with our Manufacturing Engineers to enhance productivity, reduce waste and improve component quality. Collaborating with engineering, machine maintenance teams and team leaders to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during production. What we require from a CNC Machinist: NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience in manufacturing operations & production environment. Able to work to technical instructions and adhere to fixed process and quality standards. Confident in interpreting engineering drawings. What we require from a NTD Inspector: Our Client puts safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. These principles form the behaviours that guide and are an essential component of their assessment process. They are the fundamental qualities that they seek for all roles. We are looking to recruit at all levels and the ideal candidate will have experience in the field of NDT with past or current NDT approvals. Ideally this experience will have been gained in a relevant industry, such as Aerospace, or products and services, where high levels of reliability and integrity are required. You will ideally possess a high level of education, Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Professional qualifications in NDT are highly beneficial (e.g. PCN, SNT, ASNT, EN4179, NAS410), with the ideal candidate qualified in PT and MT techniques. We also believe for the right candidate, this may be an Ideal opportunity for someone not currently in NDT, to enter the field through the training programme to gain the necessary qualifications. A demonstrable ability to work in a highly technical environment, in multidisciplinary team and with the ability to work to deadlines is required. Inputting data into chart recorders Coating of high integrity components of varying sizes to tight engineering tolerances. Use of manual grit blasting equipment to prepare parts for coating Making chemical additions to process tanks and completing TPM. Work within a Team to effectively resolve production and quality issues. Interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications. The flexibility to undertake other tasks/activities when required. A willingness to learn new skills and processes, undertaking training where necessary. Experience of NADCAP or Aerospace accreditations desirable Awareness of HS&E requirements. What we require from a Chemical Process Operator: Essential: Experience in a chemical processing or coating of precision components environment Understand and interpret technical drawings and work instructions. Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic environmental consultant to work within our land quality team, leading and delivering projects. The position is for an Environmental Consultant to work within our Climate and Sustainability Services business in London. You will lead delivery of contaminated land assessments for a large nationally significant project. Clients will include private developers, public sector authorities and other organisations. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside other environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists, and will work closely with technical disciplines (both internal and external to Arup) to deliver high quality environmental consultancy services in contaminated land and brownfield development. You'll be mainly office based and may visit site when required. This may include managing ground investigations including supporting junior staff, working with ground investigation contractors and liaising with client teams. You will be responsible for: Technical delivery of contaminated land assessments. Managing junior staff supporting the delivery of contaminated land assessments. Writing environmental reports. Project management activities including programming and budget control. Interfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams. Communicating and liaising with clients. Knowledge of major projects, Development Consent Orders, Environmental Statements and environmental permitting (desirable). Ability to manage and direct more junior staff and good analytical skills with a focus on finding solutions in relation to assessment technical and project management issues. Ability to work within a commercial environment, including client liaison, programme and time management, quality assurance and financial/budget control.
