Senior Structural Engineer Warwick / up to 3 days remote About the Role You ll be working as part of an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high quality output on projects. Client care and repeat business is crucial to success, so you ll need to be able to develop and nurture relationships with our clients (both internal and external). As a Senior Engineer, you are expected to have a strong track record in one or, preferably, multiple sectors of operation. You will ideally be a Chartered Engineer with experience of working on a variety of medium-size projects and possibly managing small packages on large projects. Responsibilities & Accountabilities Provide engineering services design and consultancy work under the direction of the line manager or project lead. Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and ensure progress against the project brief. Check calculations and detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements. Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient and buildable solutions. Contribute to the preparation of enquiry plans, tender reviews, fee estimate sheets, scopes of work and change controls as required. Review specialist subcontractors/suppliers calculations and drawings for technical compliance with design intent. Ensure team compliance with company quality management and best practice for Perfect Delivery . Skills and Experience Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Be fully conversant with the basics of CDM Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes with respect to civils and structural loading, design and specification including a number of the following: Building structures in steelwork and reinforced concrete. Senior Civil Engineer Birmingham Our client is an international Engineering, Architecture, Project Management and Construction Management company. Their areas of specialty are the Biopharmaceutical, Food, Beverage & Consumer Health, Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Education, and Energy Sectors. With the backing of a strong international Group, they have grown to become one of the UK leaders in the delivery of projects in the food and BioPharma Sectors and are rapidly developing within the other sectors. You will be responsible for leading on the technical input and civil engineering of our portfolio of projects for clients. Not only to work as part of a wider multi-disciplined project team where you will lead on the civil engineering discipline but the chance to develop your leadership and managerial competencies and skills. Responsibilities: Lead on civil engineering design of site development works, earthworks, road design, underground drainage (surface, foul and process) and utility works. Carry out analysis and design work of all aspects of Civil work, from concept to detail design and commissioning, including site queries and design change requests during construction stage. Produce man hour estimates and technical write ups to support bid team. Work closely and interact with the end client, contractors and colleagues within the design time. Provide advice and act as a focus point for all civil engineering input during the lifecycle of the project delivery for the company. Conduct all tasks and work in line with contract, regulatory requirements and internal policy processes. Qualifications: A Bachelor degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering Preferably Chartered Engineer Proven expertise and knowledge in civil engineering design of related project type works (e.g. drainage systems, earthworks ) Design related software proficiency (e.g. AutoCAD, Windes, Revit, Civil 3D, PDS, Autotrack) Preferably experience with civil site construction stages of projects. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills (ability to interact with all stakeholders both externally & internally) A proactive approach with a can do attitude to tasks and responsibilities. Aptitude towards leadership or management of others.
