Pick & Pack Production Manager Location: Corby, Northamptonshire Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 Hours: Full-time, including regular weekend working We are recruiting on behalf of a growing chilled food fulfilment business for an experienced Pick & Pack Production Manager to take ownership of its busy, high-volume packing operation. This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for people, productivity, quality, food safety and dispatch performance, as well as improving processes as the operation continues to grow. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day chilled picking, packing and dispatch operation. Plan labour, staffing and workflow around changing order volumes. Lead and develop supervisors and operational teams. Ensure orders are packed accurately, efficiently and on time. Monitor productivity, labour efficiency, quality, waste and rework. Identify bottlenecks and implement practical operational improvements. Maintain stock control, traceability and temperature-control standards. Develop SOPs, training and performance standards. Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements. Work closely with senior management to resolve issues and support business growth. About You You'll need significant management experience within chilled food, food production, food fulfilment or a similar high-volume packing environment. We are looking for someone who is: A confident leader with experience managing a sizeable operational workforce. Experienced in labour planning and performance management. Strong on productivity, process improvement and operational discipline. Knowledgeable about chilled food handling, traceability and temperature control. Practical, hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Willing and able to work weekends as a core part of the role. Desirable: HACCP/BRCGS knowledge, food safety qualifications and experience developing or improving a packing/fulfilment operation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and preparing machinery and equipment to ensure efficient production processes. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with fabrication, and experience with various tools and materials handling. Responsibilities Assist the Mill Setter in sating up and calibrate machinery according to Setting Sheets Set Mills ensuring that the finished products meet with the client quality plans Record roll settings and setting adjustments when required Inspect all tooling and notify engineering or production of any problems Ensure tooling stock levels remain at agreed levels both in terms of quantity and quality. Complete production paperwork accurately and punctually when required (including downtime and scrap). Use measuring equipment as required. Check raw materials for quality and size. Conduct finished product checks against client standards Repair machinery breakdowns if required Promptly report machinery breakdowns to Mill Setter and Engineering in order to reduce production downtime. Use overhead crane Maintain good housekeeping practice and ensure that all working areas and machinery in the warehouse is maintained, cleaned, used safely and looked after responsibly. Experience Have a minimum of 2 years machine operating/engineering experience in a fast moving manufacturing environment Have excellent communication skills with a methodical approach to team work Be flexible and have experience of continuous improvement Be able to demonstrate an aptitude to learn, be self motivated and be capable of lending support and encouragement to team members Be organised to be able to cope with multiple tasks and priorities in a fast moving environment with a high commitment to quality and the environment Above average numerical and literacy skills Be qualified to operate a crane and related lifting equipment. Your main duties will be to speak to customers both inbound and outbound to offer a positive customer service experience at all times. Dealing with mainly inbound calls at approximately 50 per working day. Working closely with the warehouse staff ensuring stock is accurate and duties are carried out. Checking on any deliveries and following up on customer order requirements, resolution of any shortages or issues in a calm and professional manner. The hours of work are: 08:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday Plus every other Saturday 08:00am to 1:00pm £12.71 per hour / £29'740.40 per year basic starting salary, with overtime available when permanent at time and a quarter when required.
