Job Title: Industrial Gearbox Service Fitter Location: Workshop based, with site work as required Reporting to: Service Manager / Workshop Supervisor Job Purpose To service, repair, and refurbish industrial gearboxes and motors within a busy workshop environment, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to manufacturer specifications. The role requires a strong mechanical background, a flexible attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Strip down and assess industrial gearboxes and motors Diagnose faults and complete service and inspection job sheets Clean and degrease components prior to repair and reassembly Replace gears, shafts, bearings, and seals to manufacturer tolerances Assemble and test gearboxes and motors following repair Paint and prepare equipment for despatch Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workshop safety Carry out on-site work at customer locations when required Skills and Experience Essential: Proven mechanical fitting experience Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions Good computer literacy for job sheets and records Flexible, can-do approach to work Full driving licence Desirable: Basic electrical knowledge Machining experience, including lathes, presses, and milling machines Forklift licence Experience working on customer sites

The Role As a Motion Control Technical Support Engineer, you will support customers, system integrators and OEMs with the specification, sizing, application and integration of inverter drives and associated motion solutions. You will work on real-world industrial applications, not just products, helping customers achieve reliable, efficient and optimised systems.
