The role: Reporting in to the Technical Manager, the purpose of the role will be to support the technical categories in delivering food technology requirements of the company, ensuring enquiries and complaints are dealt with efficiently and work with the rest of the business to facilitate efficient and effective achievement of company objectives. Key Responsibilities: Development of the quality attribute sheet for customer launches. Precise completion of customer specs or NPD specs, making sure databases and spec documents are completed. Completing our customers KPIs monthly and monitoring documents across all food categories. Help provide technical support to relevant technical categories, input on products, to inform Sales, procurement and external customers. Ensure that all customer complaints and enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively by liaising with colleagues, customers and our suppliers. Ensure that all internal databases updated accurately and maintained. Support technical category teams by providing product and supplier specific information to customers to expedite queries. Communicate relevant customer / retailer COP internally to the technical category team. Help with product QC assessment for our core customers when needed. Support with supplier gap analysis visits when requested. Where appropriate, attend supplier and first production visits for our new and existing suppliers. Contribute to the continual development and improvement of the department through agreed departmental KPIs and targets and by contributing to any other technical tasks allocated within the Technical dept. The candidate: Hold a degree or above in Food Technology/ Science or recognised food safety qualifications. Experience working in the food manufacturing - Minimum of 2 years. Good working knowledge of Food Safety Systems is desirable. Knowledge of the UK food industry and legislation is essential. Has HACCP knowledge and other appropriate professional qualifications. Be able to multi-task and work well under pressure against tight deadlines. Be analytical, interpersonal and the ability to be able to influence others at all levels effectively. Numerate, literate with intermediate IT Skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
