Automatic Door Engineer West Midlands OTE 55,000 + An award-winning, global market leader in the automatic door industry is currently going through a period of sustained growth and is looking to expand its service engineering team and is, therefore, looking for an additional Engineer to join their team in the West Midlands region (anywhere from Telford down to Redditch) . The roles offer an ongoing training package, with exciting prospects for personal growth and development. The package includes a basic salary of 35,500 , 2400 per annum callout standby fee, 33 days holiday, a lucrative commission scheme as well as a first-time fix incentive. As an Automatic Door Engineer, you will be responsible for: Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic doors manufactured by companies such as Assa Abloy, Record, Geze, Dorma, Stanley, Tormax, Horton, Label, and more. Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment. Basic electrical wiring. Adhering to BS EN 16005 standards. The successful Automatic Door Engineer will have: Experience working for an EN 16005 recognised automatic door company ( automatic doors preferred, but transferable industries considered ). Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic door systems or similar electromechanical access systems . Preferably installed automatic swing and sliding doors. A valid EN 16005 certificate, or at least have held one in the past. A clean driving licence. A CSCS Card. Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault finding. Providing customers with advice and identifying the best solution to their individual requirement. In return, you will receive a remuneration package which includes: Basic salary of 35,500 depending on experience. 2400 per annum callout standby fee. Home-based, door to door pay. Premium overtime rates after 8 hours per day, travel time is considered overtime. Commission scheme, top earners bring in over 800 per month. All power tools and hand tools provided. This role provides the opportunity to manage multiple installation projects across the South of England while representing an internationally recognised organisation at the forefront of safe, secure, and innovative access solutions. Role Overview As a Project Manager, you will act as the key point of contact for operational teams, subcontractors, and regional stakeholders. You will take full ownership of around ten installation projects at any given time, spanning major industrial, transport, power, and logistics sites. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate audits, effective planning, strong commercial control, and delivering projects safely, efficiently, and profitably. Key Responsibilities Manage installation projects end-to-end, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety standards. Conduct thorough on-site audits to ensure compliance, quality, and accurate project reporting. Ensure pre-costs are commercially sound and aligned to project scope. Coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to required standards. Oversee multiple projects at varying stages across industrial and infrastructure environments. Improve planning, communication, and workflow visibility throughout the project lifecycle. Work closely with the regional Project Coordinator to support efficient project delivery. Maintain strong commercial oversight and ensure profitable project outcomes. Skills & Experience Proven experience delivering installation or construction projects independently. Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously. Strong planning, scheduling, and organisational skills. Excellent commercial awareness and analytical capability. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Understanding of site safety, compliance, and quality standards. Experience within mechanical, construction, industrial doors, lifts, or related sectors is desirable. SMSTS/SSSTS or PRINCE2/PMP is beneficial but not essential.
