Clocking jobs and running CAM programmes, including running standard programmes to produce stock, liaising with CAM operators whilst working as part of a multi-functional team. Role is primarily focused on 3 axis milling, experience of 5 axis beneficial but not essential. Experience of 3D machining strategies desired The ideal candidate will have proven experience working as a CNC Operator/Setter in a precision engineering environment, with experience and a strong understanding of machining processes and tool section alongside the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Role: Set and operate CNC machines (including lathes and/ or milling machines). Interpret technical drawings and work instructions to ensure accurate machining. Select and install appropriate tools and fixtures. Work with various materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, hardened steels, mild steel, and engineering plastics. Carry out basic machine maintenance and ensure all equipment is kept in good working order. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. Perform quality checks and first off inspections to ensure product conformance. Optimise machine settings for efficiency and accuracy. Monitor equipment performance and report issues proactively. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with HSE standards. Ensure health & safety regulations and workplace procedures are always followed. Work within 12 strong technical design and tooling environment. Experience Requirements: Proven experience as a CNC setter in a precision engineering environment, running multiple machines. Strong understanding of machining processes and tool selection. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Proven experience programming with HAAS, HURCO controls. Good problem solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
