What you will do: Support the Head of Audit to develop and execute the risk-based Transformation and Change Audit Plan to provide assurance to the Audit Committee and Board on programme delivery risks and report findings in a timely manner. This involves: Contributing to high level IA planning and prioritisation through an understanding of the Bank's major transformation programmes, change portfolios and strategic initiatives Determining the risks and key controls in scope and developing the test plan, including use of a range of audit techniques, from observation and interviews through to data analytics and AI tools Delivery of the audit work, using continuous monitoring, inflight reviews and standard audits as appropriate Consideration of detailed and sometimes complex audit findings, taking a balanced view of the impact and determining the root cause Preparing and presenting reports that reflect the audit results with actionable recommendations Maintaining strong standards of documentation, supporting audit conclusions in compliance with GIAS requirements, the IA Charter, and IA methodology Coordinating and overseeing IA colleagues and co-sourced partner resources working on the audit Follow up management actions and ensure that they have been implemented and the risk addressed Build strong relationships with relevant senior stakeholders across the Bank and attend key committees Maintain awareness of other assurance activities in 1LOD/2LOD and within internal audit, and how this impacts own work Maintain awareness of emerging risks, regulatory developments and industry practices relating to transformation and change, adapting audit focus when required Contribute to continuous improvement in IA practices, e.g., use of AI tools Any other duties as required that reasonably fall within the job. What you will need: Strong understanding of change and transformation risk frameworks within financial services, including programme governance and delivery models. Experience assessing programme and project management methodologies, with a focus on identifying delivery risks, evaluating governance arrangements, and providing assurance over key controls across the change lifecycle. Awareness of regulatory expectations relating to outsourcing and change risk management. Experience of assurance over controls and compliance by design. Relevant professional qualification (e.g IIA qualification and / or specialist qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, Agile PM, SAFe qualifications or CISA). Proven experience in auditing or overseeing large-scale transformation or change programmes, including governance and delivery risk. What you will do: Strategy & Proposition • Designing, launching, and continuously enhancing Metro Bank's Block Discounting and Receivables purchasing proposition. • Developing pricing models, facility structures, eligibility criteria, and risk parameters aligned to bank appetite. • Partnering with Product, Risk, Credit, Legal, and Operations to build a scalable, best in class capability. Business Development & Market Engagement • Creating and owning the growth strategy for Block Discounting and Receivables purchasing across the UK. • Building and managing relationships with independent asset finance lenders • Originating and converting high quality new business opportunities to meet annual lending and income targets. • Acting as the bank's subject matter expert at industry events and within professional networks. Credit & Risk Management • Leading the credit assessment process for new borrowers, including pre lend audits and portfolio analysis. • Ensuring strong financial, operational, and collateral risk review of each new facility. • Supporting the completion and annual renewal of uncommitted Block facilities. • Escalating early warning indicators and driving effective risk mitigation strategies. Audit & Portfolio Oversight • Overseeing all in life audits (quarterly or risk based), ensuring portfolio performance and compliance with covenants. • Ensuring adherence to minimum cover ratios, concentration limits, and collateral eligibility rules. • Maintaining visibility across borrower KYC/AML processes and aligning with Metro's Financial Crime expectations. • Managing ongoing MI and portfolio monitoring, ensuring timely reporting to senior leadership. Leadership & Operational Excellence • Leading and developing the Block Discounting and Receivables function • Creating and embedding processes, controls, and documentation to support safe, scalable lending. • Driving continuous improvement across customer onboarding, drawdown processing, and in life servicing. • Helping to shape the long term operating model, including people capability, systems, and external partners And we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. (You must already understand Block Discounting and Receivables mechanics, audit requirements, legal frameworks, and risk controls). • Proven track record in originating, structuring, and managing Block facilities or similar secured receivables based lending. • Strong understanding of HP, lease and loan agreements, asset finance markets, and independent lender operating models. • Experience of conducting or overseeing audits, including system reviews, portfolio performance testing, and fraud controls. • Strong commercial negotiation skills with an established network of asset finance lenders or brokers. • Excellent understanding of: Borrower Financial & Portfolio information, Eligible collateral rules, Minimum cover ratio testing, Concentration controls, Replacement paper mechanisms, Fixed and floating charges, Fraud risks (especially double funding). • Ability to analyse arrears data, portfolio characteristics and financial statements. • Strong awareness of regulatory expectations around KYC/AML reliance, Consumer Duty considerations, and money laundering risks. If this is the case, we will provide a day off in the week and any reasonable additional travel can be expensed. We will make sure you get the training needed to develop you into a banking representative; this will include a mixture of live teams' sessions with a trainer, guided study through our online training suite, and on the job training (such as observing, buddying up, and serving our customers). All of this training will be blended together, at a pace set between you and your manager. What you will need: Ability to build effective customer relationships in a fast-paced environment. Maintain meticulous attention to detail, even under pressure. Profound understanding of the risks associated with the role and their implications for both yourself, and Metro Bank's customers. Proficient in computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
