About the Client Our client is a leading engineering contractor delivering complex mechanical, electrical and instrumentation projects across the Data Centre, Life Sciences, Industrial, Power and Commercial sectors throughout the UK and Europe. With a strong reputation for innovation, quality and safety, they continue to deliver some of the most prestigious engineering projects in the industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an EHS Advisor to support the delivery of a major project, working closely with site management to ensure the highest standards of Environmental, Health & Safety compliance are maintained throughout all phases of construction. About the Role This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS Advisor to join a market-leading contractor on a major engineering project. The successful candidate will initially be based on-site in North Wales for approximately the first three months, before transitioning to North Acton, London for the remainder of the project. This role is ideally suited to someone who is flexible, enjoys working on major projects and is willing to travel and work across multiple locations as project requirements dictate. Reporting to the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for supporting site operations, promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and company procedures. Key Responsibilities Support the implementation of the company's Environmental, Health & Safety Management System. Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety observations. Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and company policies. Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and monitor safe systems of work. Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks where required. Monitor subcontractor compliance and provide guidance on best practice. Work closely with site management to promote a positive and proactive safety culture. Produce EHS reports and maintain accurate records. Support environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental requirements on site. Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal teams regarding Health, Safety & Environmental matters. Assist in preparing for internal and external audits. Requirements NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate. Previous experience within an EHS or Health & Safety Advisor role on construction, engineering, M&E or industrial projects. Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation. Experience carrying out audits, inspections and accident investigations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence site teams. Full UK Driving Licence. Willingness to travel and work between North Wales and North Acton, London , including an initial three-month rotation in Wales. Desirable Experience working on Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial or Large-Scale M&E projects. IOSH Membership (or working towards). Duties will include: Advise and assist all appropriate Managers to discharge their responsibilities for the Health and Safety of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by Statutory Regulations and Company practice. Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required. Liaise with the Health and Safety Manager. Carry out regular inspections of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and the relevant Statutory Provisions. Duties will involve: Preparation and presentation of external/internal valuations. Compilation and agreement of variations and final accounts. Accurate and timely Cost Value Reports and such other reports as may from time-to-time be required. Supporting the Commercial Manager and Senior Contracts Manager in account forecasting and general costings. Negotiating the award of subcontracts within acceptable cost and risk parameters and thereafter the measurement and payment of the sub-contractor within the appropriate contractual/statutory timescales. Project Manager - Yorkshire Water framework SSA are currently recruiting for a leading Civil Engineering & Utilities contractor who require a Project Manager to join their team as part of their AMP8 framework covering schemes such as wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, tunnelling, shafts, deep drainage, pipelines and other schemes. This will involve working closely with the directors to ensure the right processes and procedures are put in place to deliver various clean and waste water schemes in various environments; as well as delivering the projects that have already been awarded. They are looking for someone with a detailed history within the civil engineering or utilities sector who would be able to get involved in business development, tendering, health & safety, client liaison, recruitment, and other areas. Responsibilities Ensure the delivery of the project within the given constraints of time and cost. To ensure that all health, safety and welfare obligations associated with the project delivery are met. To identify the necessary resources and assign individual responsibilities. To create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Quantity Surveyor - Civils and Power - Leading contractor SSA are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering & utilities contractor working on large scale power and renewable energy projects across London & Home Counties, including the design and build of new substations, overhead lines, battery energy, grid connections and other schemes. They are looking for an Quantity Surveyor to take the lead on projects valued between 1m- 30m under NEC contracts under the guidance of the Commercial Manager. This is a flexible role involving hybrid working, though there will be an expectation to travel across their patch to visit sites as and when needed.
