Housing Allocations Officer Windsor & Maidenhead (Hybrid Working Available) Contract Opportunity The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is seeking an experienced Housing Allocations Officer to support the delivery of a fair, transparent and legally compliant allocations service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing Local Authority team and play a key role in ensuring homes are allocated in line with statutory requirements and local policy. Key Responsibilities: Managing and assessing applications to the Housing Register Applying banding decisions in line with Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996 Administering Choice Based Lettings (CBL) Making nominations to Registered Providers Providing clear written decisions and responding to enquiries Liaising with internal departments and external partners Requirements: Proven experience within a Local Authority Allocations service Strong knowledge of Part 6 Housing Act 1996 Experience working with Housing Registers and CBL systems Ability to interpret and apply Allocations Policies Strong written communication skills Rate: Competitive and flexible depending on experience.

Job Title: Review Officer - Housing & Homelessness (Statutory Reviews Specialist) Location: Hybrid - 1 Day per Week in Office (UK Local Authority) Rate: £32-£34 per hour Umbrella Contract: Temporary (Initial 6 Months, Likely Extension) Start: ASAP Role Overview We are recruiting for a specialist Housing Review Officer to carry out statutory housing and homelessness reviews under Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) . This is NOT a complaints, ombudsman, or customer service role. We are looking for candidates with direct statutory housing review, homelessness decision-making, or allocations review experience , or closely related transferable housing legal backgrounds. Key Responsibilities Conduct S202 statutory reviews of housing and homelessness decisions. Review decisions under Part 6 (Allocations) and Part 7 (Homelessness Duties) . Assess prevention, relief, and main housing duty decisions. Review housing register eligibility, banding, and allocation disputes. Draft legally robust written review decision letters. Liaise with housing officers, legal services, and internal stakeholders. Manage caseloads and meet statutory deadlines. Essential Experience Candidates must have experience in one or more of the following: Housing Review Officer / Statutory Review Officer Homelessness Officer or Housing Options Officer with decision-making duties Housing Allocations / Lettings / Housing Decisions roles Housing legal or policy roles focused on statutory guidance and case law Required Knowledge Part 6 & Part 7 Housing Act 1996 Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 S202 statutory reviews Housing allocations and banding policies Transferable Backgrounds Considered Senior Homelessness Officers Housing Options Advisors with statutory decision-making Housing Legal / Policy Officers Housing Appeals or Allocations Specialists Not Suitable Backgrounds Complaints Officers, Ombudsman Investigators, Customer Service or Call Centre Officers without statutory housing review experience will not be considered .
