About the role The Rugby Town is seeking a dynamic Assistant Event Officer to support the delivery of a growing town centre event programme. This is at a pivotal moment for the Rugby Town brand, as it implements Rugby's new place brand and assumes responsibility for an expanded programme of town centre events from April 2026. The Assistant Event Officer will provide administrative and organisational support to the Event and Marketing Officer for the planning, delivery and promotion of council managed events within the town of Rugby. You'll help the Event and Marketing Officer successfully deliver an overall town centre event and marketing strategy. This role is pivotal to the delivery of an expanded programme of town centre events and the successful roll out of Rugby's place brand. You will assist with the scheduling and publication of content across The Rugby Town social media pages and website, keeping promotional materials up to date and in line with brand guidelines. You will undertake a range of administrative duties with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to support the planning and promotion of town centre events. This role will support the physical delivery of events, organise event bookings and documents, and collect evaluation data. You'll be working in partnership with the Event and Marketing Officer to work with town centre stakeholders, internal departments, event staff and suppliers About you You will be a highly organised individual, with the ability to work as a part of a team and manage multiple tasks effectively. You will have strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail. You'll be confident using and updating digital platforms including websites and social media, with a creative approach to the delivery of content and promotional material. You will have experience of working in a customer facing environment with good communication and interpersonal skills. You'll be able to demonstrate knowledge and a basic understanding of event delivery. Previous experience of supporting the delivery of events is desirable.
