An exciting, urgent role has arisen within a market leading financial services organization. We are urgently looking for a MS SQL Database Administrator to join a highly talented large technology division. The successful applicant will take a lead role in this high profile position, working with the business, IT, Technical Architects & project/programme managers building working relationships with clients, taking ownership for complex infrastructure projects. The role requires a solid understanding of database management, patching, tuning and recovery in complex environment. The role requires an agnostic approach to databases and infrastructure, with a requirement to act as a trusted technical specialist who assists, prepares and support products within their organisation, along with technical problem resolution, the support in the process of design and implementation of solutions. Ideally you will have experience getting involved in project assignments and with a strong understanding with the latest versions of MS SQL Server experience with implementing and configuring Databases. You must have strong SQL Server with ideally basic SQL development and bug fixing experience. Any experience with application sets like MS Reporting Services would be advantageous but not essential. The candidate will work as a member of the Application Infrastructure Support Team and will be a point of contact with regards to all scheduled processing (both in production and test environments) including intra-day and overnight batches, messaging to third parties, automated file transfers, data loading and processing for various data warehouses, reporting services and applications Good working knowledge of industry standard change management procedures. This includes an understanding of business requirements and ability to influence IT and business colleagues accordingly to manage the risks associated with implementing change.
