At our flagship British Gypsum manufacturing facility in East Leake , we are seeking an Electrical Craftsperson (Maintenance Engineer). We have been mining gypsum for more than 150 years, a heritage we're very proud of. This is a days-based role working Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm. Please note we are a 24/7 plant and would therefore require some flexibility out of hours in case of business needs. What we're looking for: The applicant will ideally have served a recognised electrical apprenticeship ideally qualified to HNC or demonstrate a minimum of NVQ3 Mechanical or comparable qualification with relevant industrial experience. Experience in Professional Maintenance, with skills in fault finding and route cause analysis. Computer literacy A flexible and willing approach to working hours and deployment is essential Attention to detail and persistence will be evident in the successful candidate Experience in using permit to work systems and other safe systems of work such as conducting risk assessments and method statements. Experience in using a CMMS system and contributing to writing maintenance planning. A continuous improvement mindset with experience of Lean Manufacturing/WCM methodologies What you will be doing: Work as part of a highly skilled team tasked with delivering focused preventative scheduled maintenance, reactive repairs, and some installation work You'll be supporting the ongoing improvement of plant equipment. You'll follow preventative maintenance schedules in a CMMS system, completing daily walk arounds, and creating work orders against issues identified. Interact with our wider engineering team and production Operators, ensuring plant is performing to optimal levels. You will be tasked with identifying solutions through fault finding, root cause analysis and the application of lean tools, while ensuring that safety protocols are always followed. At British Gypsum we're looking for a Mine Operative to work at our gypsum mine in Fauld, near Burton on Trent helping to meet our production targets and ensure we deliver for our customers on time, every time. This Mine Operative role will be a part of the production team . You'll be working autonomously as part of a wider team, operating machinery in our oldest mine to ensure we futureproof production capabilities. You'll initially work a few months of days (6am until 3pm) until fully trained. In this role you'll: Be fully committed to high safety standards Be an integral member of the Mine Production team & operate front line production machinery (full training will be given on each piece of equipment). The machinery includes mechanised drilling and blasting, loading machines, rock transportation machinery and shovel loaders. At our British Gypsum manufacturing facility in Sherburn we're looking for an Electrical Engineer to be responsible for all electrical equipment and systems across the site as well as manage our electrical maintenance team. Day to day, you'll work alongside our performance teams to ensure site reliability, ultimately ensuring we can deliver for our customers on time, every time. You'll lead World Class Manufacturing activities as well as project manage Continuous Improvement opportunities. You'll ensure effective maintenance planning, liaising with production, the SLT and other stakeholders to agree shutdown plans and manage resource. Safety is at the forefront of everything we do. You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety of your team and the site. In addition to safety, you will own and drive the ongoing development of your team through planning effective training and development. At British Gypsum we're looking for a Mine Electrical Engineer to work on a rotating shift pattern (inclusive of mornings, afternoons and nights) as part of a small but mighty shift team playing a key part in how our biggest and oldest mine successfully operates. You'll safely carry out and deliver both preventative & professional electrical maintenance to maximise our mine's efficiency by actively utilising continuous improvement techniques and delivering the highest standards . What we're looking for: 18th Edition qualification as a minimum Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar Underground mining experience would be highly advantageous, however other heavy industries would suit Hands on HV and LV experience A strong sense of H&S for both yourself and your colleagues, with the ability to challenge and identify risk Experience maintaining mobile plant or similar equipment What you will be doing: You'll be accountable for your own and your colleagues' health and safety, whilst ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest possible standard. You will be expected to have an analytical mind and be able to apply those skills to problem solving and decision making and be able to clearly communicate with others. Demonstrating a positive and proactive approach, with a continuous improvement mindset, as well as both reactive and planned electrical maintenance work across diesel vehicles, conveyors, crushers, the work will include both installation and testing of electrical equipment, both LV and HV, as well as industrial electrical works The tasks in which you'll apply the continuous improvement tools will involve all aspects of the mine equipment operation, to professional maintenance.
