At our flagship British Gypsum manufacturing facility in East Leake , we are seeking an Electrical Craftsperson (Maintenance Engineer). This a great opportunity to join a highly skilled team dedicated to the ongoing improvement and maintenance of our gypsum plaster production plant, the largest of its kind in Europe. Gypsum is the vital raw material at the heart of our plaster and plasterboard, and much of it is mined, milled and made in Britain. We have been mining gypsum for more than 150 years, a heritage we're very proud of. This is a days-based role working Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm. Please note we are a 24/7 plant and would therefore require some flexibility out of hours in case of business needs. What we're looking for: The applicant will ideally have served a recognised electrical apprenticeship ideally qualified to HNC or demonstrate a minimum of NVQ3 Mechanical or comparable qualification with relevant industrial experience. Experience in Professional Maintenance, with skills in fault finding and route cause analysis. Computer literacy A flexible and willing approach to working hours and deployment is essential Attention to detail and persistence will be evident in the successful candidate Experience in using permit to work systems and other safe systems of work such as conducting risk assessments and method statements. Experience in using a CMMS system and contributing to writing maintenance planning. A continuous improvement mindset with experience of Lean Manufacturing/WCM methodologies What you will be doing: Work as part of a highly skilled team tasked with delivering focused preventative scheduled maintenance, reactive repairs, and some installation work You'll be supporting the ongoing improvement of plant equipment. You'll follow preventative maintenance schedules in a CMMS system, completing daily walk arounds, and creating work orders against issues identified. Interact with our wider engineering team and production Operators, ensuring plant is performing to optimal levels. You will be tasked with identifying solutions through fault finding, root cause analysis and the application of lean tools, while ensuring that safety protocols are always followed. This Mine Operative role will be a part of the production team . You'll be working autonomously as part of a wider team, operating machinery in our oldest mine to ensure we futureproof production capabilities.
