As a Security Officer, you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that the physical security for the site meets contractual and customer requirements. This role requires individuals to be able to undertake a 12 hour rotating shift pattern, including days, nights and weekends, working 4 on, 4 off. Voluntary overtime is available on occasions. Key Responsibilities will include: Patrol the interior and exterior of buildings and perimeter. Control access to site and designated buildings for authorised personnel. Detect and if possible prevent unauthorised entry to sites/buildings. Screen all visitors coming to the site. Search contractor vehicles before entry to site. Carry out random access/exit searches of members of staff and staff vehicles. Act as the first point of contact for any emergency and co-ordinate emergency response where necessary. Operate the switchboard out of hours. Deal with any suspect postal packages and suspicious objects in accordance with agreed procedures. Monitor the effectiveness of the end of day security measures in workspaces. Monitor CCTV, alarms and access control systems as required. Comply with health and safety and emergency procedures.
