The Opportunity: Are you looking for a role to expand your knowledge of the process of delivering new homes? If so, the Programme Team are looking for a new team member to assist with the Affordable Homes Programme. You will be part of a team, working together to investigate and obtain data for collation and reporting on a range of subjects, from number of homes completed, to whether a home was built with grant funding. You will be working on a large development programme, supporting our grant funding programmes ensuring information is submitted in line with our funding requirements. What you'll be doing You'll have a range of administrative responsibilities to support the wider team including the ability to learn new systems like our Development appraisal and project management systems. You will also need to investigate and collate information from our systems to enable timely submission of data in external systems like Homes England Information Management System (IMS). You will be maintaining a vital dashboard of development data, be able to your initiative to ensure completeness of datasets and will assist in the collection of statistics to develop clear reports The location of our team stretches from Somerset, Wiltshire across into Dorset and we regularly work together in one of our local hubs, so flexibility to travel as the business requires is a must. About you Previous administrative experience is a must for this role, and you will need to be a confident communicator. You will need to have great IT skills to be successful in this role, along with a keen eye for detail. We would prefer if you have experience of making or reviewing reports and gathering data. An understanding of planning, construction or an awareness of affordable homes would be highly beneficial for this role. You will need to have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to commute to one of our local hubs as the business requires. We have an exciting opportunity for a Clerk of Works to join our Development Team. This role is an integral part of our development programme, ensuring the quality of Aster's new build homes during construction, at practical completion and the end of the defect's liability period. What you'll be doing You will have regular site visits (preferably weekly or at least at key stages) to ensure that building work is being carried out in accordance with the statutory requirements, the specification and the conditions of the contract. You will be inspecting and reporting on progress, quality of workmanship, passive fire stopping installations and key stage works. This will enable you to discuss with the project team any issues that require further attention or remediation. You will be working with both internal and external teams including (but not limited to) the Senior Clerk of Works, Internal Agents and Project Managers and Surveyors. You will be expected to maintain and develop relationships with these parties as well as the Site Management team and External Agents. About you The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a technical site-based role, so will be able to demonstrate experience of working on residential construction projects of various sizes. You will have a good working knowledge of building / technical practices as well as related legislation and health & safety issues. Educated to A level or equivalent in a construction related subject, you will hold a CSCS card and will have the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and will be able to identify potential issues with the quality of construction. You'll have a flexible approach to work with the ability to take part in an out of hours standby rota within your region. You'll be able to work effectively in a team and autonomously when necessary and have enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service and an ability to keep calm in difficult situations.
