Overview Children's Social Worker Team: Generic Location: Lincolnshire Rate: £TBC Details: As a Social Worker Level 2 based in Louth, you will work closely with: Children, young people, and their families; Colleagues across the Children's Services Directorate, including Team Managers, Service Managers, and the Director; Multi-agency partners such as health professionals, education providers, police, and voluntary sector organisations; Legal professionals including solicitors, barristers, and members of the judiciary; External agencies and community services involved in safeguarding and supporting children. Main Purpose of Job: To deliver high-quality social work interventions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, ensuring that services are provided in a timely, effective, and child-centred manner in line with statutory responsibilities and Lincolnshire County Council's practice model. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of children and families, including complex cases, ensuring assessments, plans, and reviews are completed to a high standard. Cases will be held from the point of allocation through care proceedings (should that be the outcome for the child/family). Provide professional advice and support to colleagues and partner agencies, contributing to multi-agency decision-making and planning. Represent the Council in legal proceedings, preparing reports and attending court as required. Participate in team and service development initiatives, including mentoring less experienced staff and contributing to training. Keep up to date with legislation, policy, and best practice to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in service delivery. Maintain accurate and timely records using the Council's case management systems. Job Activities Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act and other relevant legislation. Develop and implement child protection and care plans in collaboration with families and professionals. Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings. Provide written and verbal reports to inform decision-making at all levels. Engage in reflective supervision and continuous professional development. Promote the use of the Signs of Safety framework in all aspects of practice. General Information The post holder must comply with Lincolnshire County Council's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and data protection. The role may require flexible working, including occasional evening meetings or visits. This job description is subject to review and may be amended to reflect the changing needs of the service. The team operate a 3 week rolling duty rota during which they will be in the office for one full week in 3. The 2 weeks not on duty, it is expected that the worker will be in the office a minimum of 2 full working days per week.
