Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer based in the Bridlington area, is seeking a temporary Bookkeeper to join their team and support them with a backlog of accounts work. They are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take on a crucial role, providing essential financial support and contributing to the smooth operation of the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid bookkeeping experience, particularly with Sage, who is eager to become an integral part of a hands-on SME. What the Bookkeeper job involves You'll play a key role in managing the daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Raising customer invoices and delivery notes on a daily basis. Managing the invoice factoring process. Daily monitoring of bank accounts and cashflow. Payroll administration, collating employee hours each week from a clocking in system and send to payroll. Matching invoices and accurately allocating payments within Sage. This is a varied and fast-paced role that would suit someone who enjoys being at the heart of an operational team, managing multiple financial priorities, and providing excellent administrative support. Skills required We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate a practical approach and a willingness to contribute beyond traditional bookkeeping duties. Ideal candidates will have: Proven experience with Sage 50 would be beneficial. The ability to manage and allocate payments efficiently within Sage. Self managed and able to work on their own initiative. A high degree of adaptability and flexibility to take on a range of tasks as needed. Previous experience in bookkeeping from a small / medium size business. This role would suit someone who is not afraid to contribute to a busy, hands-on environment. Other information Working hours are initially 10 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday. On-site car parking available. Own transport is essential due to the location. Leading, motivating and developing your people through a period of growth, change and improvement. Reviewing current ways of working and identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and client service. Supporting the delivery of high quality accounts, tax, payroll, audit and advisory services. Building trusted, long standing relationships with clients, understanding their businesses and supporting their ambitions. Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice to business owners and senior decision makers. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver a joined-up professional and consistent service. Contributing to the strategic direction of the business and helping shape future growth across North Yorkshire. Taking an active role in networking and representing the firm within the local business community. Building and strengthening relationships with professional contacts / regional business partners. Supporting sustainable, relationship-led business development across all services provided. Maintaining high standards and ensuring the teams continue to deliver a trusted service to clients. This is a varied and influential leadership job where accountancy practice knowledge, leadership and commercial awareness are all key. Skills Required Experience of working within an Accountancy Practice at a senior level is essential. Commercially minded, confident and an experienced people manager / leader. Hands-on, approachable and able to prioritise your time across multiple sites. Strong communication skills, excellent relationship building experience and a proactive approach. Other information This is a full time position working Monday to Friday 36.25 hours a week. You will have the opportunity to shape the role, local growth and develop high performing teams.
