Loader & Transport Planner Bedford £30,000 per annum Permanent 6:00am - 2:00pm Are you an experienced Transport Planner or Logistics professional looking for a varied role where no two days are quite the same? We are recruiting for a Loader & Transport Planner to join a busy operation in Bedford. This is a hands-on position, split roughly 50/50 between transport planning and working within the warehouse so you'll need to be comfortable getting stuck in physically as well as managing the administrative side of transport. You'll play an important part in coordinating daily deliveries, working closely with drivers, customers, production and sales teams to make sure everything gets where it needs to be, safely and on time. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and coordinating daily delivery schedules Liaising with transport providers and drivers regarding vehicle requirements Working closely with Sales and Production to meet customer requirements Loading and unloading vehicles when required Ensuring vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently Coordinating goods in and goods out Checking delivery paperwork and ensuring orders are delivered Scanning goods onto vehicles and maintaining accurate records Managing delivery paperwork and chasing outstanding PODs Checking incoming deliveries against paperwork and reporting any discrepancies Supporting the smooth running and organisation of the transport yard Operating a forklift where appropriately licensed Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping Supporting transport training records and general departmental administration You'll ideally have: Previous experience in a transport/logistics role Good geographical knowledge Strong organisational and administration skills Good written and spoken English Confidence using Microsoft Office , including being able to write professional emails Excellent attention to detail and accuracy A full UK driving licence A flexible and hands-on approach The ability to communicate confidently with drivers, customers and internal teams A Forklift Licence would be advantageous but isn't essential Working Hours & Benefits Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm Due to current short-time working, there may be occasions where Fridays are not required Permanent position Annual company shutdowns, including approximately: 1 week at the end of May 2 weeks across the end of July/beginning of August Approximately 1 week over Christmas Additional floating days throughout the year
