Salary - 45,000 - 55,000 Duties Produce and manage cost estimates, budgets, and commercial forecasts across civil engineering projects. Administer contracts (typically NEC or JCT), ensuring compliance with all commercial and contractual obligations. Measure and value works completed on-site, including take-offs, re-measurements, and verification of subcontractor applications. Prepare and submit interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts. Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of variations, compensation events, and change management documentation. Compile and maintain cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) and monthly commercial performance reports. Support procurement by preparing tender packages, analysing subcontractor quotations, and making award recommendations. Monitor project progress and costs to ensure accurate cost control and early identification of risks or opportunities. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to maintain commercial awareness and alignment with project objectives. Review design drawings, specifications, and site information to determine cost impacts and scope clarity. Manage and negotiate subcontractor accounts, ensuring agreements are fair, accurate, and in line with contract terms. Support dispute avoidance and resolution, preparing evidence and documentation where required. Maintain accurate records, registers, and audit trails for contractual and financial purposes. Ensure all commercial activities are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements. Contribute to the preparation of project handover and the timely agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors. Requirements Previous experience in the construction industry HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying Familiarity with JCT/NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations

Quantity Surveyor urgently required for a housing developer based in Farnborough. Sites will vary in size from 60 units - 200 units and will be of mixed specification. The role will report in to the Commercial Director and you will form part of the commercial team. This position will suit someone with housing developer / house builder experience and who can run their own sites with minimal support. We have an exciting opportunity to work on a Main Civil Engineering contractor to work on a very prestigious project in the East Anglia / Essex region on multi discipline civil engineering projects. This construction programme is underway with c5 years worth of work in front of them. They require a Section Engineer to work across the project responsible for the Structures, Earthworks and infrastructure packages. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working on civil schemes, with a background, either within heavy civils, and structures, highways or infrastructure. Responsibilities as Section Engineer: • act as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives within your area of responsibility. • develop safe systems of work, method statements and quality documentation; ITPs, QRPs and the like. • produce, monitor and control budgets for sections of work scope. • ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications • oversee the selection and requisition of materials • manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents • liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project • attending regular progress meetings to inform the wider team • carry out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force, junior site engineers and the work of any subcontractors in area of responsibility • plan the work and efficiently organise the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines • oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site • prepare reports as required • resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise. A Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to work on a civil infrastructure / Highways project in Suffolk My client a civil contractor with a turnover of c£600m across multiple disciplines with work across the UK. The project is a £30m Highways and infrastructure project where works consist of Highways, Infrastructure, Drainage Earthworks and street lighting and furniture The ideal candidate will be required to: Lead/Promote high standards of HSEQ on all projects and monitor/ensure company policies and procedures are in place. Champion & Drive Operation/Commercial excellence across all Project Teams. Ensure the Project Team are undertaking the necessary record keeping relating to Site Correspondence, Allocations, Reconciliations, diaries, delay notices, CVI s, RFI s to protect the business. Ensure Project Team are closely monitoring the Contract/Target programme/Procurement schedules with a weekly intrusive review. Train/Develop/Motivate all staff under your control and ensure all your projects teams receive PPR. Ensure training is reviewed for your teams to improve business performance The ideal candidate will be: Has previous experience of similar infrastructure Projects enabling successful delivery of the Project, Safely, on-time and to budget. Good communication and management skills both with the Client, Site Team and Supply Chain Understands and develops the Programme and methodology for the benefit of the Contract. Conversant in NEC4 Option C. Ability to Value Engineer. Lead by example. Commercially aware As part of a generous Basic salary the role come with a Bonus, car or allowance, pension and health care.

Duties: Identifying the operational unit demand and supply chain capacity. Buyer materials for sub-lines, bridges, lifts, platforms for Rail Stations. Working on all aspects of the buyer cycle Procurement of sub-contractors and materials covering, Pre-construction, work winning, supply chain, production of sub- contracts for Rail projects. Manage the Supply chain including performance and relationship management. Working with the stake holders. Experience Required: Working as a Buyer within the civils market for Rail Projects. Existing business network and relationships with the supply chain. Working knowledge of contracts i.e. NEC Salary: 25,000 - 32,000 plus allowance and package, some flexible home working.
