A highly respected global insurance broking group is expanding its Property division and is looking for an Account Handler to support the servicing of large, complex property portfolios in West Sussex! You will become part of a close-knit, high-performing team who is working with some of the UK's most recognised clients, with access to market-leading expertise, structured development pathways and a supportive culture through and through. This role is ideal for someone with any insurance product knowledge who is keen to specialise and build a long-term career in property and real estate risks. The role This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. You will play a key role in the day-to-day servicing of client accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client delivery. Supporting the management of large property portfolios. Assisting with renewals, MTAs and new business. Handling technical queries across a range of property-related risks. Liaising with clients and insurers to confirm cover and resolve outstanding items. Supporting credit control and account queries. Working within a regulated, SLA-driven environment. About you We are open to people from across the insurance market- you don't need to essentially come from a property background, just the passion to move into it. You'll ideally have: Commercial insurance knowledge in any capacity (is a bonus, not essential) We will consider candidates with personal lines home insurance or from an MGA background looking to transition into Commercial Property. Experience in an account handling / servicing role. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. A process-driven, highly organised approach with excellent attention to detail. In this role, you will service a robust SME book of existing clients, covering a broad range of commercial classes of insurance. Supporting a book of existing clients, your focus will be on retaining and growing accounts by offering exceptional assistance to existing customers and maximising cross-selling opportunities. Your responsibilities include: Creating documents for new customers detailing their insurance requirements. Obtaining renewal terms for customers, researching suitable alternatives, and preparing presentations for Account Managers to discuss in face-to-face meetings. Coordinating all renewal quotes for existing customers and handling any mid-term adjustments. Managing insurer queries related to customer policies, confirming coverage, processing policies, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Securing and verifying policy documentation from insurers before approval and release by the Account Executive. Addressing account queries and credit control issues, promptly reporting any concerns to Account Managers. To be successful in this role, you will need to: Hold or be working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications: Dip CII/FIT is preferred. Experience with Acturis (desirable). Be aware of risks when handling customer information and seek advice when necessary. Be diligent, process-driven, and deadline-oriented, with strong organisational and analytical skills.
