Lecturer/Assessor in Electrical Installations Full Time 37 hours per week £28,433 - £31,615 per annum - Depending on Qualifications and Expereince Based at the St Albans Campus / Travel required around Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire and London Oaklands College, based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, are looking for a Lecturer/Assessor. The successful candidate would be required to teach and assess on a range of Electrical Installation programmes at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. We deliver apprenticeship programmes, full time level 1, 2 and 3 as well as commercial evening courses. We have a large number of students and apprentices who attend on full time and day release programmes. The ideal candidate will have excellent Electrical Installation skills and knowledge to be able to teach and assess. The role will also involve participation in the quality assurance process for part of the Electrical Installation programmes. Holding a teaching qualification is desirable but not essential as training and the chance to achieve a teaching qualification whilst working for the College will be provided. Candidates would need to hold a Assessor Award. The successful candidate would be required to teach and assess Level 3 students studying Electrical Installation via work-based learning and apprenticeship programme delivery. Applicants holding a D34, V1 or TAQA Level 4 would be desirable however the College would support training for these qualifications once started in the role. Due to the nature of the role you will be required to travel between various sites and employers; standard mileage rates will be paid; a full driving licence and car are essential. Hours for the teaching role would involve daytime teaching and some evening classes, timetable to be confirmed. Lecturer in ICT Full Time 37 hours per week £25,433 - £30,363 per annum - Depending on experience and qualifications Based across the St Albans and Welwyn Garden City Campus Oaklands College is an FE college with a large, growing and successful curriculum and we are looking to recruit a Lecturer within our ICT team. The successful candidate will ideally have completed a Degree in Computing and have a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience in the subject area. Where a candidate does not hold a recognised degree, they must have at least 3 years' relevant industrial experience and it would be an advantage to hold professional qualifications from Microsoft, Cisco or CompTIA. This is a full-time, permanent role and will involve teaching on a range of programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, covering units such as Programming, Networking, Cyber-Security, IT Systems Support (PC Maintenance) and Software Development. The teaching post will include pastoral care support sessions, and the successful candidate may also be called upon to teach Maths and English Functional Skills. Ideally, candidates should hold a recognised teaching qualification, although full teacher training will be provided. The L.I.F.E provision (Learning for Independence and Future Employment) support a range of learners with S.E.M.H (Social, emotional and mental health), moderate and severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The College also has a specialist department for students with Autism and is accredited through the National Autistic Society (NAS). Our L.I.F.E student support assistants work with our learners who need additional support and guidance before moving onto another supportive programme, or further education, training and work. Support needed varies from student to student. Our more complex learners may require assistance with personal care, feeding and administration of medication. Experience of moving and handling skills in the work place would be an advantage, as well as familiarity with the use of hoists, although full training will be provided. Our S.E.M.H cohort will be supported following the STEPS programme, a therapeutic approach to promote positive behaviour management. Although your assistance would be mostly practically based, emphasis is also placed on personal and social education, use of community services, information technology, literacy and numeracy, the development of employability and decision making skills. ACL Horticulture Tutor Hourly Paid - £23.76 per hour Teaching Rate and £15.37 per hour Non-Teaching Based at the St Albans Campus but courses may be delivered in Welwyn Garden City, Borehamwood and the surrounding areas Oaklands College, Adult and Community Learning team which is based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, is looking for an experienced and qualified Horticulture tutor to deliver short Horticulture/Gardening courses as part of our Step2Skills funded provision. These short courses are delivered over five to six weeks (2 hours per lesson) during the academic year to community partners and groups, which will include students with mild learning difficulties and disabilities. Courses are developed to meet the group needs and could range from how to grow your own vegetable in a limited space, creating your own container garden, garden maintenance and grow your own herbs as examples. Ideally you will have previous experience in delivering bespoke provision. Courses are delivered at our Campuses and community venues in the areas stated, so your own transport is essential. The successful applicant should have a high level of experience in the area of Horticulture/Gardening and would ideally have professional qualifications and a relevant teaching qualification e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent.
