Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Youth Mentor to join their Personal Development team. This is a fully on-site role where you will play a key part in supporting young people facing social, emotional and behavioural barriers to learning. You will manage a caseload of students identified as 'at risk', working proactively to improve their attendance, engagement, wellbeing and overall academic outcomes. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on building positive relationships and making a tangible difference to young people's futures. Please note: A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (issued within the last 3 years or on the Update Service) is essential. Applications without this will not be considered Key Responsibilities Manage and mentor a caseload of at-risk learners through regular 1:1 support Develop and implement tailored intervention plans in collaboration with curriculum staff Monitor attendance, engagement and behaviour, tracking impact and reporting progress Work closely with safeguarding, careers, counselling and teaching teams Engage parents and carers to promote consistent attendance and positive outcomes Maintain a visible presence across the college to support vulnerable learners Promote safeguarding, equality and student wellbeing at all times Key attributes Experience in youth work or a related field (education, mentoring, behaviour support) An enhanced DBS check is essential for this role Level 2 English and Maths (essential) Ability to build strong, professional relationships with young people Confidence to work with parents and carers Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage own responsibilities and work under pressure Confident using Microsoft Office and online system Experience within a school or further education setting (desirable) Experience supporting students with additional needs (desirable) Coaching or mentoring qualification (desirable) Please note: Due to the large volume of applications we receive for each position we will only be able to respond to applications received with the relevant skills.
