We're looking for a Senior Temporary Works Advisor to join our Design team based in Leeds, Liverpool, Speke and Salford. Our 100-strong Construction Engineering capability brings together a team of talented civil, structural and geotechnical engineers from a range of backgrounds, combining complex analysis, spatial design and an eye for the practical to deliver buildable solutions on site. We specialise in reimagining permanent designs to make them more buildable, designing temporary works and traffic management solutions, advising on the procedural management of temporary works, construction materials, ground engineering and surveying. Kier Design are a top-25 engineering consultancy, delivering a wide range of services across all sectors of the built environment, providing construction-focused, innovative and sustainable solutions. We have preferential access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline, including mega projects like High Speed 2 and Hinkley Point C, frameworks with national and local government and other public bodies, and a range of other interesting projects in every sector of the built environment. What will you be responsible for? As a Senior Temporary Works Advisor you'll be working within the Construction Engineering team, supporting Kier in contributing to the delivery of a broad range of complex construction engineering services, leading the delivery of some services, providing solutions which are safe and buildable. Your day to day will include: Advising TWCs, Business Unit DIs and business stream DIs (according to role) on the effective implementation of the group Temporary Works standard and associated guidance, complementing the role of SHE Advisor / Manager and Director Providing technical and practical advice on specific areas of temporary works design and implementing in accordance with own level of competency, drawing on the knowledge and experience of other KPS staff as required Undertaking formal and informal TW compliance audits of projects and frameworks on behalf of Business Unit DIs, recording findings (via Novade) supporting identification of trends and improvements Tender and bid winning support including outline design schemes, feasibility studies, production and evaluation of concepts; focussed on buildability, efficiency and innovation; enabling cost estimates to be developed Delivery of alternative solutions and value engineering, enhancing Kier's competitive position Design management advice and coordination to support bid winning and project delivery, including acting as lead designer on projects requiring multidisciplinary teams or where Kier are required to take lead consultant role What are we looking for?
