About the role: The Category Manager for Beer will join our On Trade & Hospitality Channel team, focusing on developing customer relationships, leading category strategies, and executing in-outlet plans to drive growth, strengthen our brands, and enhance our reputation as a category leader. This role requires close collaboration with sales, marketing, insights, and other cross-functional teams to deliver impactful commercial initiatives. Role Responsibilities: Develop and grow customer base by understanding key strategies to improve brand visibility and performance. Lead the creation and execution of category plans based on outlet blueprints. Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners including brand teams and shopper marketing. Implement strategies to optimize range, space, and placement, leveraging growth levers like off-fixture space and digital solutions. Set and monitor distribution, range, and space targets, measuring progress regularly. Evaluate in-outlet tactics and incorporate learnings into future plans. Tailor selling stories to customer insights, setting activity targets accordingly. Lead customer immersions to develop tailored solutions and strategies. Build and maintain relationships with customer buying and insights teams. Support customer meetings with brand insights and activation plans. Collaborate with channel insight teams to understand customer behaviors and inform planning. Experience and Key Attributes: Extensive FMCG Beer experience, especially in relevant channels and customers. Practical knowledge of category management and customer relationship management. Commercial and execution experience valued. Experience with data sources like IRI, Kantar, MCA, Mintel to support trade stories. Strong understanding of national account management, particularly in on-trade environments. Strategic thinker with clear vision for the category. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team skills. Proficiency in applying category management principles and insights techniques. Ability to analyze data and develop actionable strategies. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards, including contractor oversight. Support delivery of capital engineering projects-on time, on budget, and to quality standards. Requirements Proven track record in maintenance delivery within a performance-focused manufacturing environment. Skilled in planned and preventative maintenance, audits, and HACCP standards. Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Experience managing internal and contractor safety systems (e.g., lock-off, risk assessments, permits). Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Key Behaviors Results-driven and improvement-focused. Collaborative and team-oriented. Open to feedback and continuous learning. Confident in handling challenges and taking initiative. Education/Qualifications City & Guilds or relevant technical qualification.
