Have experience rewinding, testing of electro-mechanical units Experience of stripping and rewinding AC/DC motors and other electro-mechanical equipment. ATEX certificate an advantage. Have experience of single-phase, three-phase, DC fields, armatures, wound stators and transformers. Observe proper insulating techniques and / or requirements during rewinding. Test rewound electro-mechanical equipment and document test results. Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, bake ovens, grinders, gantry cranes, dip tanks, and various hand held power and non-power tools. Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis Ensure you adhere to Health and Safety responsibilities at all times, including following all appropriate procedures and using the appropriate protective equipment. Ensure that the work area is kept clean and tidy in accordance with company initiatives and in accordance with health and safety requirements. Delivery and collection of jobs across Norfolk and Suffolk area, clean driving licence (important for driving truck etc) Good communication skills with both team , customers and suppliers is a must to ensure our service levels are maintained at all times. Job Description Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Suffolk) My client are looking to hire an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join its Engineering department. Maintenance Engineer responsibilities: Efficiently maintain & repair electrical and mechanical plant equipment. Undertake diagnostic and fault-finding procedures. Conduct routine maintenance and general upkeep of plant equipment. Attend mechanical and electrical breakdowns. Assist with small projects and continuous improvements. The individual will also need to show a commitment to quality and safety as well as assisting in keeping the factory safe and compliant. Desired skills and experience: Electrically qualified and Competent Multi skilled Engineer. Previous experience in FMCG or food industry with packaging experience beneficial. Resourceful, driven with a can-do attitude. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and variations to workload. The ideal candidate should have high level of problem-solving skills, experience working with industrial electrical systems, plant machinery and automated packaging machinery. Understanding electrical drawings. A balance of electrical and mechanical skills. Ability to work as part of a team & unsupervised. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely and communicate effectively with staff and contractors at all levels. Maintain and update planned preventative maintenance schedules. General understanding of building and site services. Being able to identify faults or hazards and troubleshooting system failures. Understanding of Fluid Power systems and drawings Understanding of Health & Safety Policies. Be flexible with daily working hours for handovers and occasional overtime. Our client undertake the complete design and supply of skid mounted and packaged equipment for the oil, gas and power industries, gas turbine producers and EPC companies This is not a hands-on technician role my client are seeking someone who can provide (mainly office-based) expertise and support to our projects. Main duties include: Providing engineering support for instrumentation and electrical scope. Resolution of technical issues relating to instrumentation. Preparation and checking of documents including hazardous area drawings & calculations relating to Instrumentation. Definition and approval of technical scopes. Obtaining quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors, reviewing quotations. Reviewing plant layout with respect to instrumentation and electrical. Attendance during inspection and testing relating to instrumentation. Attendance during internal and customer meetings, providing technical expertise to the business. Contributing to assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance. Ensuring that designs comply with the relevant procedures, standards and regulations. Keeping up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline. Candidates applying will be expected to have previous experience of instrumentation and/or electrical engineering within the Oil & Gas industry, knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation, with proficiency in scope definition. Familiarity with AutoCAD would be beneficial. An understanding and previous experience of the following will be expected: General instrumentation including Pressure/Temperature/Flow etc. Actuated valves Hazardous Area equipment Safety systems Vendor management Control systems and panels Functional Testing and client management Previous experience within the oil and gas industry would be beneficial. An MSc or MEng or equivalent educational level in a relevant discipline would be preferred, though not essential, however, sufficient experience in a similar environment is mandatory. Offshore experience and current/valid BOSIET, MIST and Medical Certificates would be an advantage. This is mainly an office-based role, although some travel to our workshop in South Wales or to customer sites may be required from time to time
