My client, a leading Engineering company based in High Wycombe are looking to recruit a Sales Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. This would suit a Design Engineer looking for a change of direction while still using their design skills. The Sales Engineer will predominately be working with existing clients on new orders and looking for opportunities to expand within those existing customers (no cold calling or hard sales). You will be liaising with clients on project designs and assisting the project management team to convert those requirements into detailed, defined instructions and designs for the procurement and production departments. To be able to effectively gather requirements and then convert them into work instructions you will need to be proficient in SolidWorks (or similar) and AutoCAD. This role WILL NOT involve cold calling, but rather offering technical assistance to customers, typically managing 4-5 accounts and offering technical assistance with orders. The Role: Sales Functions Conduct commercial negotiations with new and existing clients. Process purchase orders onto MRP system Conduct contract reviews. Analyse documentation, such as drawings and other data, to prepare materials, cost, time, and labour estimates. Break down all expenses and prepare reports to assist management in the organising, planning, and scheduling of work. Collect cost data to estimate total costs for both current and future projects. Perform onsite investigations during the course of a project and adjust project budgets as needed. Recommend ways to reduce cost in the areas of labour, materials, and assembly to benefit the company. Track actual costs as a project develops and assess cost effectiveness of projects, services, or products. Engineering: Liaise with Clients on project design. Assist the project management team to convert client engineering requirements into detailed defined instructions and designs for the procurement and production departments. Provide quotation data in the form of layout drawings. Offer technical assistance when necessary. Attend internal design reviews. Assist in the development of design standards. Participate in client interface meetings to support the sales and project engineering departments The Person Conversant with AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Efficient, well organised, and able to communicate at all levels including internal and external stakeholders and very prestigious clients. Good writing skills, with the ability to write technical quotes for clients. Experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing environment. This role would potentially suit someone from a design background who has moved into a sales or internal sales role. It may also interest design engineers that have had some client contact and are looking for a slightly different progression or direction. Hours of work are 07.30 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 07.30 - 13.30 on Fridays covering 40 hours per week. The Maintenance Engineer will take overall responsibility for the maintenance of factory equipment; predominantly CNC / Manual machinery and machine tools. In addition, there will be general building maintenance. The successful candidate should be mechanically biased, the role is weighted approximately 80/20% mechanical to electrical. the role is offered on a dayshift working 08.00 - 16.00 Monday to Friday covering 37.5 hours per week. Main Duties: Machine Shop: Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and related equipment with minimal downtime. Read and interpret equipment manuals, assembly drawings and schematic diagrams to perform required repair or service. Adhere to all safety procedures as required by specific standards related to the equipment, method or process. Plan, organize and control all maintenance work within the company to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to the required standards of quality and availability. Maintaining machine and equipment documentation in accordance with the PUWER regulations. Creation of a unified preventative maintenance schedule. Recommendation, selection and deployment of Maintenance management software. Deployment of collaborative projects conducive with Digitisation and IoT, including robotics, automation and preventative monitoring systems. Control stock and maintain contact with the appropriate suppliers and relevant personnel to ensure that an adequate supply of spares and equipment is maintained. Regularly review all working practices, procedures and equipment to ensure that they are the most efficient and effective available. Building Management: General maintenance and repairs on a day to day basis. Ordering and overseeing maintenance sub-contractors, such as plumbers, electricians. Co-ordination and organisation of external repairs to the building or the yard Ensuring effective facilities management of the building, including monitoring and maintenance of the provision of an effective internal and external cleaning service, waste management service, pest control service. Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance. Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility. Skills / person specification: Minimum HNC in an engineering, mechanical, electrical or maintenance discipline. Mechanical and Electrical knowledge and skills required to maintain CNC and manual machine tools. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Facilities Manager. Experience providing facilities management advice and guidance within a manufacturing and office environment. Practical and hands-on with ability to manage maintenance issues in-house where appropriate. Skilled Fabricator/Welder Required My client is looking for a permanent member to join their team of 1st class tradesmen. This long-established company provides high quality products across many industries including Pharmaceutical, Food, Brewery, Architectural and Structural industries. The role has good variation, generally fabricating one-off bespoke items or low batch quantities. Typical work will involve process pipework & equipment, vessels, ductwork, architectural metalwork and secondary structural fabrications. The role is workshop based although dependant on skill level, pharma/brewery/food products are sometimes fitted or modifications may be required so there may be a requirement for site work on occasions. Hours of work are 07 30 Monday to Thursday and 07 30 Friday with overtime available to suit customer requirements. Experience of working to tight tolerances with attention to detail, ensuring high standards are met at all times. Experience and ability to work on site previous experience working within pharma/brewery/food factories is favourable, with pipefitting experience a bonus. Experience with polishing, sheet metalwork and pattern development is beneficial, however training can be given where needed.
