Working under the direction of the Shift Team Leader, you will operate an Energy from Waste high-pressure boiler, steam turbine generator and associated auxiliary plant, while undertaking first-line fault diagnosis and supporting maximum plant reliability, flexibility and availability. What are we looking for? - An ONC, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant craft skill or process or thermal production operations. - Candidates with a lower-level qualification may be considered where they have suitable relevant experience. - At least three years' experience within the power generation, Energy from Waste or biomass operations and maintenance industries. - Experience of working with heavy process plant maintenance activities. - A good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements. - IOSH Managing Safely is desirable. - A good level of practical operational or maintenance experience and knowledge. - A full understanding of process and instrumentation diagrams. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Familiarity with a range of computer applications. - The ability to work independently and take responsibility during changing operational situations. - Strong organisational and interpersonal skills. - A self-motivated, flexible and committed approach. - The ability to work flexible patterns, participate in on-call arrangements and adjust working hours when required by the business. You will help ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently and with proper regard for environmental compliance. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.
