What you'll do: Assist lecturers and students during practical lessons, ensuring a safe, productive learning environment. Organise and maintain tools, equipment, and teaching resources for electrical installation Support students in their practical assessments and provide one-to-one mentoring where necessary Ensure all activities and resources comply with relevant health, safety and electrical standards Maintain the workshop and wider site, including managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and carrying out general maintenance to ensure a well-equipped and efficient learning environment What we're looking for: Experience in electrical installations, marine engineering, or relevant workshop practices is not essential, we're looking for someone who can bring practical experience to the role. If you do have relevant experience, that's great, but it's by no means a requirement Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements Competent, organised, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with staff and students A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to support wherever needed, including assisting teaching staff during sessions. About the role: As the Lecturer in Media, you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching. Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Media will include: Teaching on courses as agreed with the Curriculum Lead focusing mainly on Vocational Media although hours/courses may be subject to change. Acting as a Personal Tutor to students, if required. Acting as Course Leader, when requested. The Curriculum Leader in Media and Film Role: As our Curriculum Leader in Media and Film you will lead the Curriculum Area effectively in all aspects of teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring high levels of quality and student satisfaction, excellent outcomes, and strong progression. Responsibilities as our Curriculum Leader in Media and Film will include: Oversee the production of ambitious, inspiring and stimulating teaching and learning materials across courses in the Curriculum Area. Ensure that all subject-related documentation such as schemes of work, assessment plans, assessments and mock exams are high quality, fit for purpose and regularly updated. Lead and promote inspirational and innovative teaching, learning and assessment across the Curriculum Area. Ensure that regular testing and/or other assessment practice takes place across all courses in the Curriculum Area, in line with college guidelines, alongside the management and supervision of marking and moderation of work. Alongside the Director of Faculty, ensure that all internal college-related quality processes and procedures, such as observations, the quality audit and PPRs are effectively undertaken in line with college requirements. Where appropriate, ensure that where student marks need to be uploaded externally, that this is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor, analyse and effectively respond to all in-year results data across subjects in the Curriculum Area, working with staff to make improvements where appropriate. Take responsibility for leading, supervising and managing line reports in line with college practice and policies. Assist in the selection and appointment of staff within the Curriculum Area. Be responsible for inducting new staff into the subject area, including the induction of Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
