We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Architect to join us, to identify and analyse the execution of change to deliver on our business vision and strategy. Working closely with the business and technology leadership teams, this role will develop and maintain the overall architecture roadmap for the Fulfilment & Order Management and Colleague & Store Operations domains. Please note that this role will be based at our office in Southampton, with an expectation of being in the office 2 days (minimum) per week. What's the job? Research, innovate, and drive the definition of 3-5-year architectural visions and roadmaps in key areas such as customer and colleague experience, fulfilment and order management, colleague and store operations and supply chain. Work across the organisation to holistically review, prioritise, and align these for all banners and functions. Support the articulation of business benefits and outcomes, and then the creation of business cases that bring these to life. Ensure sponsorship and stakeholder engagement, and drive communication of these strategies, visions, and roadmaps across the company. Develop and maintain documentation of the as-is architecture landscape (overall view on IT capabilities). Assess, review, and mitigate risks of the as-is architecture (compliance) and ensure these are addressed within the roadmaps. Guide and direct intake from the business teams to set clear context and expectations on conformance to strategy, time, cost and quality. What you'll bring Demonstrable professional experience gained across a wide range of IT-related disciplines (planning, analysis, development, operation & service management), ideally within retail/store operations/supply chain. Proven experience working in an Enterprise Architect position in key architecture domains. Experience working with 3rd party solution providers, including consultancies. Proven understanding of how technical aspects of IT work with the ability to communicate and engage effectively, clearly and concisely across all stakeholders and audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a real passion for delivering excellence. About the role: As a Tech Lead you lead from the front and are sought-after for technical mentorship from across our teams. Over time, you will gain a depth of knowledge in the major components of our technology stack and hold technical ownership of your assigned components. You will play a vital role in leading engineering teams to building solutions that are scalable, quality, secure, and are built with the future in mind. You are tech savvy, hold a wealth of experience in technical leadership and system design, to tackle complex technical problems. You can take high-level business goals and architecture solution designs and translate these into a meaningful technology roadmap that can be delivered by our feature teams. Responsibilities: Whilst you will be operating at a senior level, we still expect you to be a significant contributor to the teams that you work with on a day-to-day basis. Lead on and advocate outstanding architectural standards, engineering methodologies, as well as Kingfisher's engineering principles Define and implement software architectural quality attributes, such as: performance, reliability, availability, scalability, supportability Work alongside Solution and Enterprise Architecture, to evaluate and make technical decisions to craft high-level solution designs Take high-level solution designs and translate into a technology roadmap that can be digested and delivered by teams Provide recommendations on application designs, analysing design specifications and validating them with engineering teams Collaborate and produce clear direction to the engineering teams on the implementation of new systems and features Ensure detailed application designs support Kingfisher's technological strategy Work alongside our Infrastructure teams to help drive our infrastructure designs Guide engineering teams to ensure they release frequently and automatically through pre-production to production. Continually review projects and work, taking findings from them to educate, coach and mentor peers. Build and maintain accurate user documentation Lead the discussion of technical requirements with subject matter experts and end users (both technical and non-technical) Contribute to team ceremonies Own and continually strive for resolution of technical debt within software delivery teams Understand and validate continuous improvement activities of relevant applications and service Own and continually strive for resolution of open incidents (within agreed SLA's) with the technologies that you own Proactively gives to internal and external communities Proven at operating effectively at both a strategic level to advise IT architecture and at detailed level to support product development A track record of ownership and crafting major improvements in large scale business-critical systems around stability, security, performance, and scalability.
