Design and Development Engineering is at the heart of what we do and we are the leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet. We have Mechanical Design Engineer opportunities for Design Engineers across a number of key areas of our business to include Nuclear Primary Components, Secondary Propulsion Components, In-Service Support and Maintenance, Special Purpose Tooling and Equipment as well as our Future Product division. What you will be doing: As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be creating component / assembly / systems designs and associated through-life justification that meet their requirements and product attributes of life, cost, availability, and safety margins. Creating Full Life Cycle Design solutions through concept, design, manufacture, operation and disposal Integrating cross-discipline engineering concepts, collaborating across manufacturing engineering, simulation, materials, testing, and supply chain functions. Documenting and verifying information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references. Presenting at technical reviews in front of peers and expert panels. Publishing safety and technical reports which are subjected to customer and regulatory scrutiny.
