Engineering Manager - Water & Infrastructure Hybrid working (2 days per week from home) CAN BE BASED FROM ANY OFFICES - MANCHESTER, CHESTER, LEEDS, GUILDFORD, LONDON, NOTTINGHAM, NEWCASTLE As my client continue to grow their Water and Infrastructure capability across the UK, we're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join and lead the delivery of technically excellent, multi-disciplinary projects across the water and industrial sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineering professional who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability and a passion for developing high-performing teams. About The Role As an Engineering Manager, you'll provide technical and people leadership across a portfolio of water and infrastructure projects, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design and construction support. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers and discipline leads, providing technical governance, design oversight and mentoring to engineering teams while maintaining strong client relationships. You'll play a key role in developing capability within the business and supporting the growth of Water sector offering across the UK. The role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs and associated civil and structural infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams delivering projects across the water and infrastructure sectors. Provide technical leadership and governance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring quality, safety and compliance requirements are met. Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, reports and technical documentation. Act as Technical Lead or Design Lead on major projects and frameworks. Support the planning, resourcing and delivery of projects to programme, budget and quality objectives. Develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor. Drive collaboration across disciplines to deliver integrated, best-for-project solutions. Mentor, coach and develop engineers at all levels, supporting technical excellence and career progression. Support business development activities, proposal preparation and client engagement opportunities. Promote innovation, continuous improvement and the application of industry best practice. Champion a strong culture of safety, quality and sustainability across project teams. About You Significant experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector project delivery. Strong technical knowledge across water and wastewater treatment assets, pipelines, pumping stations and associated infrastructure. Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams within a consultancy or contractor environment. Demonstrated ability to provide technical governance, design assurance and engineering oversight. Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience. Experience managing project resources, budgets and delivery programmes. Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach. A strong understanding of British Standards, water industry standards and engineering best practice. Ideally, You'll Also Have: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the ICE or another relevant professional institution. Experience working within design and build and/or major UK water frameworks. Experience supporting business growth, work-winning activities and client development. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead test management and delivery within a large-scale transformation environment. The successful candidate will bring strong experience across test strategy and delivery, risk and controls, stakeholder management, business process improvement and technology change. This is a senior, client-facing role requiring the ability to work across business and technology teams, provide clear reporting and analysis, identify and manage delivery risks, and drive continuous improvement throughout the transformation lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end test management across large-scale transformation programmes. Develop and implement appropriate test strategies, plans, governance and reporting. Manage testing risks, issues, dependencies, controls and associated mitigation plans. Provide clear and accurate reporting and analysis to senior stakeholders and programme leadership. Work collaboratively with business, technology, delivery and third-party stakeholders. Support and drive business process re-engineering (BPR) and process improvement initiatives. Contribute to digital and technology change programmes, ensuring testing is aligned to business outcomes. Work closely with Business Analysts and functional teams to understand requirements, processes and functional design. Provide effective stakeholder and client management, communicating progress, risks and decisions clearly. Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, controls, governance and delivery effectiveness. Apply strong business acumen and strategic thinking to testing and transformation challenges. Ensure high standards of written communication across test documentation, reporting and governance materials. Essential Skills & Experience Strong Test Management experience gained within large-scale transformation programmes. Proven experience in risk assessment, risk management, controls and delivery governance. Strong experience producing reporting, analysis and management information for senior stakeholders. Demonstrable stakeholder management and professional collaboration skills. Experience driving business process improvement and/or business process re-engineering (BPR). Experience supporting change and transformation initiatives across business and technology environments. Strong understanding of Business Analysis and functional design principles. Excellent client-facing, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate strategically while maintaining strong attention to delivery detail. Strong business acumen and the ability to understand complex business and technology environments. Desirable Experience Experience working within complex, regulated or highly governed environments. Experience managing testing across multiple workstreams, systems or business functions. Experience operating within large programmes involving significant organisational or technology change. Experience establishing or improving test governance, controls and reporting frameworks.
