Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a Nuclear Process Engineer to support their Naval Nuclear site at Devonport, Plymouth.Rate: up to £70p/hr UMB (Inside IR 35)Location: remote, weekly site presence required at Devonport (some flexibility will be managed as required)Duration: a long term 6-12 month contract with good prospects for further extensionKey requirements: Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation and maintenance of pressure/pipework systems Knowledge of the design lifecycle Knowledge of the general regulations, legislation and standards that are applicable to nuclear process and pressure system design Knowledge of project specification, planning and budgetingAnd, technical experience with one or more of the following: Pressure systems Computer aided design Component engineering simulation System fluid flow analysis Nuclear plant designWith the following personal competencies: Good organisational and time management skills Good communication skills, both oral and written, including report writing Questioning attitude Attention to detail Logical approach to problem solving and provision of advice Flexible approach to allow for reactive nature of work An ability to work with others and independentlyQualificationsThe successful candidate will have a minimum of an HND/FdSc/FdEng or equivalent in a mechanical/process engineering discipline and be professionally registered with an engineering institution.
