Large and Complex Loss Claims Technician - Leicester, London or Bexhill (all hybrid) Role overview We're seeking experienced Large Loss Technicians to manage a portfolio of significant bodily injury claims (up to £250k) and strengthen the technical expertise within our Bodily Injury department. You'll join an expanding Technical Claims Unit evolving to meet the increasing complexity of the motor bodily injury landscape. As part of this specialist unit, you will enhance our technical capability and contribute to continued growth and development. Responsibilities Manage your own portfolio of complex motor personal injury claims, typically valued up to £250k, within agreed authority levels and business criteria to ensure consistent and effective decision making. Engage and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders (customers, witnesses, insurers, solicitors, repairers, engineers, forensic accountants, investigators, medical agencies, police authorities and other third parties) to drive efficient and fair claim resolution. Support colleagues through technical coaching and guidance, acting as a technical referral point by providing coaching, mentoring and training to build confidence and capability in handling complex bodily injury claims. Conduct technical audits as required, accurately recording findings and highlighting emerging trends or knowledge gaps. Identify and prevent fraudulent activity, ensuring claims are handled with diligence and integrity. Participate in strategic projects aimed at enhancing technical capability and keeping the unit ahead of industry trends and best practice. Essential skills & experience Proven experience handling high value motor bodily injury claims, regularly managing cases exceeding £150k £250k. Demonstrable technical knowledge of motor injury claims, including liability, causation, quantum assessment, rehabilitation and litigation strategy. Sound understanding of legal frameworks (CPR, case law developments, Ogden principles) and claims cost management. Experience mentoring or coaching others, acting as a technical referral point or contributing to capability development. Experience working with external suppliers such as solicitors, counsel, medical experts, etc. Strong analytical capability to identify trends and good computer literacy. Benefits Competitive salary.
